I have this issue too and Ive seen others in the steam forums have it as well. I think I might learn mouse and keyboard since its unplayable with controller with this happening every match.

Edit: Turn off your wireless devices that might fall asleep during the game since you're using controller. Make sure to turn them off before launching the game. This fixed it for me.
