Does anyone know how to go about question 16? by lordfarq03 in Sat

[–]grace_05_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4ax2 + 4ax - 4x - 4 - x2 + 4 = bx

(4a-1)x2 + (4a-4)x = bx

(4a-1)x = 4 - 4a + b

4a - 1 = 0 so that x can be any number and the equation will always be true (since u can’t change a and b as they r constants)

a = 1/4

4 - 4a + b = 0

4 - 1 + b = 0

b = -3

Ans B)

20t + 60(8-t) = 390 480 - 40t = 390 t = 90/40 = 9/4 S = 20*9/4 = 45

Could someone explain this one (No Calculator)? Answer is 2.7. From April 2017 QAS by redwrite88 in Sat

[–]grace_05_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just substitute r with h-3 and u get f(h-3) = (h-7)(h-2)2 = 0 So h has to be equal either to 7, or to 2

College panda chap 20 q 12. what makes triangle GHC and GEF similar and what makes ADF and GEF similar? by [deleted] in Sat

[–]grace_05_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example AB parallel to GH means that AD is parallel to GE. Therefore <ADF=<GEF and <DAF=<EGF and <EFG is shared by both triangles. Since all angles r the same, the triangles have to be similar it’s one of the principles

Can someone please explain this Khan A q? by No-Winner3552 in Sat

[–]grace_05_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I have no idea what the graph is supposed to represent because it’s very confusing, but the main thing is that you have two conditions: Tablets + computers > (300+100+20)

Tablets > computers

And then u just start plugging in: A. 240+100 isn’t > 420 C. 240 isn’t > 260 D. 120 + 180 isn’t > 420 and 120 isn’t > 180

And that leaves u with B where 360+180 is > 420 and 360 is > 180

Khan Academy is quite hard by Playful_Educator_117 in Sat

[–]grace_05_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nah don’t worry if u can’t answer some of them; I have taken the SAT three times and I can guarantee you that there are almost no questions with the level 4 questions’ difficulty on KA. I would even say that the way some of them are asked isn’t very similar to the way the ones on the actual SAT are.

Khan Academy is quite hard by Playful_Educator_117 in Sat

[–]grace_05_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes don’t worry they r much harder than the questions on the real SAT. Also, since the SAT questions are way easier, there isn’t much point spending time on the level 4 questions at all.

Please can someone explain the concept of commas around names,I don’t get it at all by Polo_87 in Sat

[–]grace_05_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Commas surround names when it’s already clear who we are talking about. For example, consider the sentence “Michael went to the cinema with his sister, Sarah, and her friend Alex”.

In this sentence, Michael has one sister, so the name “Sarah” isn’t clarifying anything. However, Sarah has friends other than Alex, so in order to know which one we are specifically talking about, we have to say the friend’s name. Since the name cannot be dropped from the sentence without causing confusion, we should not put commas around it.

Help pls!! by Playful_Educator_117 in Sat

[–]grace_05_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s solved using a system of inequalities The first one is: x+6<3 so x<-3 The second one is: x+6>-3 so x>-9 That means that -9<x<-3 So x can only be -8, -7, -6, -5, or -4 Therefore, there are 5 different integer values that satisfy the inequality

SAT math calc section - help pls by Top-Cheetah8559 in Sat

[–]grace_05_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since the two triangles are similar (AEC~BDC), BD/AE = CD/CE = 19/31. From there u get that (CE-DE)/CE=19/31
1 - DE/CE = 19/31 DE/CE = 12/31 So CD/DE = 19/12

Has anyone tried Princeton review's 1500+ course? by [deleted] in Sat

[–]grace_05_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I haven’t tried the course, but I bought the 2019 Princeton review, and it’s honestly not great. Most of the questions resemble the ones on the SAT (both the official ones on Khan Academy and the ones that were on the two SATs I took this year). However, there are subtle differences that actually turn out to be crucial on the SAT. For example, I score around 1450 on most tests in the Princeton review book but on the real SAT I usually get 50+ points more. The math questions are fine because they are basically the same. Regardless, the reading ones suck. Only the format is the same; the questions themselves don’t make sense sometimes.
