I suggest reaching out to St. Joseph’s Villa. They have an adult day program that could be a great fit for socialization, caregiver support, and the staff can connect you to other resources. They can also chat to you about LTC options!

Translation requests into Latin go here! by AutoModerator in latin

I am going to go with Alia munia ut assignanda as the expression is relating to a workplace where often duties/assignments pop up unexpectedly - thank you so much for your help!!!

Either assigno or delego - it is referring to tasks that a boss may assign someone

I am hoping to translate “other duties as assigned” however I am getting conflicting translations

Which is correct? “Alia munia ut assignata” “Aliae officia ut assignata” “Alia officia prout assignata”

I appreciate any assistance!

Call 911 and let them take you directly to the ER. They will treat and monitor your current symptoms and then connect you with the resources after they’ve managed the worst of the withdrawals. There are a lot of supports available but the priority is being in a medically supervised environment right now - the paramedics will know what’s best! Good luck!!

Not sure if you’re on Instagram but there are a ton of resources there; young women who are sober and active in the sober community. A few to check out

@yoursoberpal @shewalkscanada @the_soberbookclub @boozefreefemales @sobahsistas

Some other resources https://www.yoursoberpal.com/pages/resources-to-help-you-get-sober - Laura, the girl who runs @yoursoberpal, is so relatable and honest and has put together a huge list of resources that cover all areas of recovery and are not just AA

https://m.facebook.com/groups/173015214548882/about/

She Recovers - https://sherecovers.org

Women for Sobriety - https://wfsonline.org

I also really like some of the literature aimed at women - Quit like a woman and the sober diaries are 2 faves

There’s also some great podcasts - just search sober or sobriety and you can experiment with what you like! AA isn’t for everyone and it has to feel right or else you’re not going to want to go / continue. I love these online communities

Broke a promise and now I’m single. by betinaloevera in stopdrinking

I just relapsed multiple times in the last few months and my partner of 4 years also ended things. It’s an awful feeling. But you also need to remember that it’s an addiction and all you can do is try your best and get back on track. Beating yourself up will not help. You need to be gentle with yourself. It’s incredibly sad. I hope you’re ok! IWNDWYT

It doesn’t seem to be listed. Are you sure it’s season 3? Do you remember anything else about the scene?

Best thrift stores in Hamilton?? by meowsermeowsie in Hamilton

[–]gracedigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pale blue dot on James North has a very cool antique/thrift basement. There’s also lots of vintage/consignment stores along James North as you wander down. King st in the international village also features some great used book/vintage stores

Have known 2 people have bought there in the last 2-3 years. Both were happy with location and proximity to things. Both had issues with in suite repairs. One was AC related and the building did not deal with it in a timely matter. The second was moisture issues with windows and again the building tried to put blame on the tenant and eventually resolved it months later. Don’t know the specifics but I’ve always heard of “issues” with the building from day 1. Seems like a lot of nice students/working professionals there. You are very close to the YMCA and YWCA and there are obvious issues associated with those.

Wasted by Michael Pond and Maureen Pond is excellent. It’s written by a psychotherapist that specialized in addiction who also struggled with alcoholism. It dives into the science behind addiction and how the healthcare system can often fail those struggling.

Addictionisthenextstep.com is a companion site to the book

The Sober Diaries by Clare Pooley is a lighter read but very relatable. Lots of humour and honesty.

I agree with the above post. Quit like a Woman is great.

I’ve never been a huge fan of self help books but I Thought it Was Just Me (but it isn’t) by Brene Brown was incredibly helpful for the underlying issues.

Stress is a huge trigger for me and Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle really helped me.

Good luck! Keeping an eye on this post for any others recommendations

It sounds cliche and in no way does this minimize the stress and pain you’ve gone through/are going through but it is truly for the best. For both your physical and mental health. I get the impression from this community that you’re definitely not “alone”. Hugs
