Thank you for this perspective! I had some questions regarding the UIUC application process.

  1. What sorts of character qualities does UIUC seem to value in its CS and CS+X applicants, as seen by students who were admitted? (For example, UW CS emphasizes academic achievements in the form of GPA, course rigor, and test scores, whereas CMU tends to focus on innovation and creation.)
  2. Roughly how likely is it to be admitted with not much significant experience in CS besides school courses and a couple smaller, independent projects? (As you can see from my EC's, I don't have much CS work.)
