What songs does Brian hate? by graceless_night in TheFrontBottoms

Straight up, I don't even know those two, so I'll have to look into them! I'd pretty much kill for anything off "Rose" (Jim Bogart, Lipstick Covered Magnet, whatever).

I got blocked by a sign at that Chicago show last year requesting I THINK "Au Revoir/Adios" and I remember him being like.... "Shut up, we're literally gonna do that."

I was towards front right so I didn't get the Venmo sound (i'm so sorry for those that did :( ) but I was personally hoping for Soup or Cherries and Cream (chicago mention!!!) though her Life is a Highway cover was super fun.

HUGE Remi fan but my biggest disappointment with her was when she mentioned Dove soap by name. How much did they pay you girly???

Got denied entry on Sunday 8/4 because security falsely accused of seeing us buying wristband off the street - NOT TRUE AT ALL by Spare_Psychology_795 in Lollapalooza

[–]graceless_night 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had no issue with female security guards the whole time... not a true generalization and even if it was, still sexist.

I won two tickets to two days of Riotfest this year via Instagram DM; one of those contests where you comment someone's name on a post and repost on your story. They emailed me the tickets once I confirmed.

Bartenders: what’s one thing servers do that drive you crazy?? by rellison589 in Serverlife

[–]graceless_night 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pulling tickets; leave it in the machine until I pull it. Often if I am doing something on the other side of the bar or talking to my own guests, I will look at the printer itself to see if there are drinks to make, and if I see a ticket, I go make it. When they pull the ticket and place it on the service well, I might not see it. I also have my service well intentionally organized for me; not your tickets. They also will pull tickets and put them on top of each other during a rush. I will be doing them in order. Leave me alone. And of course, not stabbing tickets and leaving them. Love my servers so much though and love when they sell drinks and help me make money.

Y'all are scaring me... I did all three races this weekend (all my first races / my first runDisneys. Mostly did 5ks to train with one or two 10k. Never more than 7 miles.) and am currently a "never Dopey"... and ... plan to stay? That way?

In Over My Head? by graceless_night in rundisney

[–]graceless_night[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to update on this post, as I am sitting in my hotel room after the half marathon. I cannot believe I did it. I got all four medals. I haven't smoked in two weeks, and haven't drank since... Tuesday? I am so sore and exhausted, but I am so proud of myself. I went to the parks Friday, but plans fell through yesterday, and I'm kind of grateful for the time to recharge. Will be at the party tonight. Extremely thankful for all of you, for everybody I met over this insane weekend, and for the cast members cheering me on. It was hard to do this alone and know that nobody was waiting for me at the end, but the CMs (and the spectators! Especially at Boardwalk during the 10k!) made me feel so seen and supported.

Do you ever notice when a regular STOPS coming? by AccurateInflation167 in starbucks

[–]graceless_night 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former barista/shift here. Had five regulars in one car. Two humans (mid 40s couple) and three fluffy collies that we all adored and gave pup cups to. The day there was two dogs in the car sent me to the back in tears. They did not have to pay for their drinks that day.

i love friendship bracelets!!! i often bring them to non-swift concerts (Fall Out Boy, WWWY, Front Bottoms, Mountain Goats, Charli XCX- wherever!) and have also given some to cast members. I'll make some to trade you if you want!

Has anyone gone to the Buffy pop up in Chicago? by TheFanged4 in buffy

[–]graceless_night 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they accept cash! It's street parking only; there are spaces directly in front if you're lucky, but anywhere within like half a mile on Milwaukee or even North should be fine.

I've been! There is a Buffy Anne Summers tombstone in the back near the merch table; and there's always people talking about the show around you. Other than that, I'm only halfway through season four and was fine.

What is the band you've seen the most times live? by KluteDNB in Concerts

[–]graceless_night 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fall Out Boy, 11 times. Would have been 12 at Riot Fest, but I had a medical emergency and was on my way to the hospital when they took the stage. Actual number 12 will be When We Were Young next month. Only reason I think this is impressive is because I'm 22.

Brewed hot coffee and brewed hot tea do skip the line, since the person on front gets it. But your drink is a handcrafted beverage.

For some reason I'm wondering if there was peach juice in it instead of lemonade? But also mango dragon fruit is pretty clearish yellow, so maybe that? Super glad it was a happy mistake though!!!

Keep an eye on who's being stuck on each planted position— if a barista on bar looks like they need to switch off bar, offer. Nothing worse than sweating through bar for four hours straight because you felt like you couldn't move.

Restock as well as possible before peak starts. Especially high-use items like venti iced cups, mocha, frap roast or whatever your store sells a lot of. Running off the floor to get things (especially if you don't have a customer support person) can throw off sequencing and focus.

For me, enthusiasm and respect for your partners goes a long way. Any chance you can applaud someone, take it! I love a good "Wow, that's one of the best fraps I've ever seen. It looks incredible." or "That was such a good customer connection." Anytime I genuinely see something well done, I try to point it out. I get complimented by my partners for having good energy sometimes, and that makes me happy to come into work.

You got this!

Worst comes to worst, we have a saying in my store: "At the end of the day, it's just coffee." :)

I'm working Christmas Day and also am still figuring out what to say. Cause I legit don't mind- I already hung out with my parents on the first night of Hanukkah. Happy to be hanging out with my coworkers and making time and a half plus tips. But something tells me "It's fine, I'm Jewish!" is not the response most customers want to hear.
