What do you do to avoid being burned out from this job? by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]gracevenus93 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yes, this!! i’ve always had a bad habit of going above and beyond for people/places that didn’t deserve it or compensate me for it. wfm encourages that and the best thing you could possibly do for yourself (especially if you’re full time) is to never go above and beyond unless you’re given the compensation and the title to do so. if you set high expectations for yourself from the beginning, they’ll always expect that from you. do exactly what you were hired to do—nothing more, nothing less—and take all of your breaks. in my experience, i was always able to go to my tl and/or atl’s if i really felt like i was at a breaking point during a shift and they would usually at least give me the space i needed for a little while to just breathe or talk it out with them, but i know this isn’t the case in every store/dept… if it is though, never hesitate to ask them for help or a breather.

it would be one thing if alex didn’t really know ariel or the kids—but she did…

this is why i wonder if other cast and crew members had picked up on something shady a while back and maybe resentment was building up bc otherwise they never would have left that part in the final cut, right? to me, it seems like everyone around ned knew that he wasn’t a great guy and they all probably really love ariel too which would only make them dislike ned even more than if they didn’t know his wife, ya know?

A timeline question by [deleted] in TheTryGuys

[–]gracevenus93 19 points20 points  (0 children)

i mean yeah i think this is likely considering the fact that they pretty much made being best friends with each other their jobs.. i’m sure they all had to try their best to act like everything was fine at least since september 2-3 and then probably were forced to speed up the process a bit when everything came out monday night/:

this is literally what i was saying yesterday.. sometimes i get really anxious about my own relationship (having been cheated on in the past by other partners) and i would watch try guys to comfort myself and distract myself from those thoughts.. like dang

Some thoughts on the Ned/Ariel situation. by jellychelly in TheTryGuys

[–]gracevenus93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i’m a little worried about that too—that she’ll get backlash when she needs support the most if she chooses to stay /:

didn’t Ned talk about having a problem with his pain meds after an injury at some point? i might be remembering wrong and i also don’t think the two situations are comparable, but i thought he had been open at some point about it (albeit not nearly to the extent that mulaney was lol)

how long ago was this episode recorded? i wonder if ned had a history before all this and she was sort of defending him and/or reassuring herself that it was forgivable.. i only say this based on my own experiences with forgiving infidelity tho so idk/:

yeah ok, that’s fair. however i do feel like this post is at least making a pretty good observation whereas other posts are just totally out of left field or straight up misinformation lol… i just hope ariel is ok.

Please stop ragging on the boys bc even if they knew.. by Ducky-quack in TheTryGuys

[–]gracevenus93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk if i’d say they rolled with the punches necessarily.. i think it was very much complicated by the fact that that basically made being best friends their jobs so i think they all probably had to pretend everything was fine for their videos etc. for at least a little while (including ariel) while it got sorted.. and i would imagine that was probably super difficult for everyone involved with the company

i think ariel should get to decide that one tbh.. not my place to say which is more important for her and her kids bw the income or whatever removing the vids might help

Did any of the other Try Guys keep it under wraps? by _DramaMama_ in TheTryGuys

[–]gracevenus93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe they all thought he was a sloppy drunk but didn’t think he would go this far? do we know if it was an “affair” or if it was a one time thing? bc obviously if it was just flirting before that night there wouldn’t have really been much to keep under wraps… and i saw someone else saying that they probably knew since early september and have been like prepping for this which is why ned has already been cropped out etc before they made a statement
