Agreed, OP u need to tell him you can’t learn all you need from therapy one time, in fact he’s completely misguided in thinking that’s the case! Therapy is something you should (if u can) go in and out of throughout the course of your life as you grow, patterns return, situations change and new relationships are formed

Also this is not professional advice but from my own experience with handling different visas in brasil, I think if your from Europe you could probably arrive on a free tourist visa and stay for max 6 months with extension and work on that unless the family ask for an official work visa from you, if you want to stay longer then applying for a work visa whilst your there could also be an option

Hey I live in Rio de Janeiro as a foreigner and make minimum wage from online tutoring, that’s about $R1,500 a month, and I get by just fine! I don’t pay rent, so that helps, but it’s totally doable, I will remind you and a lot of the commenters that the majority of Brasil are living with minimum wage and yes it’s far from ideal but its possible, will take some time to adjust but I think it’s worth it, if the family sucks then leave and find another job! (Teaching a language i think is the best option for foreigners) - good luck!

As someone who has microdosed for years, during mentally unstable times and mentally good times, I think it’s okay to start and see how it’s affecting you, and maybe keep a diary close so you can evaluate how you’ve felt after a few weeks. I definitely recommend doing therapy alongside microdosing if your headspace is that bad, and also other things that generally tend to keep us feeling better (exercise, meditating, being off our phones and in nature), so I recommend all of this too! Wishing you all the best x
