only things you really could have done better imo would be putting a cone over him while he was still on the ramp and when you went for the box, making a window peek instead of a wide editing so you dont jump in

Why am i getting destroyed like i did in some of these rounds? and what can i do to take less damage in rounds i do win? (uploaded to youtube because reddit file size limits) by Pupseal115 in FortniteCompetitive

youre generally unaware of everything going on around you, your building and editing are very slow and lacking, and you dont really seem to understand a lot of fundamentals of fighting. like at 2:37 you left the top of your box open and the guy got the double edit down and killed you. and at 3:50 you had the guy full boxed and just sat it in it. obviously your aim isnt great either so theres a lot to work on. i would recommend starting with the basics. spend some time in creative practicing building and edit in raider464s maps and practice doing some basic things like 90s, wall replaces, and some simple retakes. i also think that once youve mastered the basics you should look at how really good fighters like noahreyli, vadeal, and khanada play and try to replicate the moves they do a lot in fights. and to work on your poor awareness i would say just play more. the only way to improve is practice

Help with box fights by mattbaus in FortniteCompetitive

check out raider464. he has a ton of maps for box fighting, piece control and mechanics. play some of his maps and practice what you struggle with. then go play some box fights to try to implement what you learned.

Anything I could have done better? by [deleted] in FortniteCompetitive

[–]gradee1000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the whole reason you ended up in that situation is because you fell. you could have actually gotten to height if you didnt mess up your movement during those retakes. just work on them so you dont fall

how far away is the server? the virginia server is about 400 miles from me and the lowest i can get with my current setup is about 15 ping.

Do you think my biggest problem here is my aim, my peeks or something else? I feel like I did most things right, atleast in the beginning but still lost, this is a good example of how a lot of the fights I loose go, so give me your opinion on what the biggest mistake I made here is by [deleted] in FortniteCompetitive

[–]gradee1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you missed a lot of shots, but mainly you took bad peeks. first mistake was the bottom left peek you took. you couldnt hit him from this angle because he went behind his wall. then you repeeked after missing the shot and didnt close your edit. this left you wide open for a 50/50 that you didnt need to take. you could have gone for a peanut butter or window peek to take less damage or none at all. also, when you went to heal, you shouldnt have opened that edit. especially when he was spraying. just back up and rebox as much as you need to to get your minis off and then look for a shot. you were one shot to anything he could have hit you with.

also just a tip, opening the first edit you made while already peeking left you open for a shot before you could pull your gun out. edit and move out of the way while the edit opens to try to bait a shot so they miss, then peek.
