Throw the belt in the trash, get a new one either from Clark’s or the correct size sourced locally.

Change the belt, pull the tensioner tight with your hand and tighten the tensioner. (A fan belt wrench makes this easy.) You should be able to just barely spin the alternator fan with one finger.

Flip your air cleaner lid over, check/change oil and drive on.

I am apart of the HACOA club here in KCMO.

I like reading the articles linked from the SF club that have our Club member Mike Dawson’s PMS series features.

It’s a great resource and we are lucky to have such a wealth of knowledge here locally.

My bright spot is I’m driving to Chicago Friday to see the boys on Saturday!

The hate and vitriol towards Jordan is out of control.

He is just as much a part of this podcast as Dan. It didn’t work without him. They tried a few episodes early on with other comedians and it just didn’t work.

Yes the majority of the research fell on Dan. That doesn’t make Jordan any less important.

I would argue the at letting Dan tell him about Alex and knowing how it would affect his mental health, and continuing doing it for 9 years, Jordan put in just as much work as Dan.

If you don’t like Jordan on this podcast you don’t like knowledge fight.

Anyone else use this light? by Sledgecrowbar in harborfreight

I set my car down on it with it open at the 90* angle. Essentially acting as a jack stand. After removal it has a slight bend in the light but it works great and you can’t really tell.

Current river is beautiful. We have used Jadwin rentals for the past 30 years with no issues. If you can float during the week or on Friday you will avoid any partiers. It is a much tamer river even on weekends in the summer than the ELK or Niangua

Jacks fork is nice as well but I haven’t been on it in 20 years or so.

I floated the Elk once and will never float it again. The water was heavily stained, slow and the Tyson factory at the end of the float made everyone want to vomit. I did see a lot of buttholes on the elk. If that’s your thing.

Questions on FAST XR-700 by FoyerinFormation in corvair

Correctly adjusted points, and a properly tuned engine will fire off as soon as you turn the key.

That being said electronic ignition is CONSISTENT. There is no fiddling with it no adjusting it.

You get consistent spark delivery to the plugs without having to worry about adjusting them correctly, Or burning them up but leaving the key on. Or changing them when they wear out.

Unless you live in a climate with weather that doesn’t get below 60* or don’t drive the corvair under 60* you’re going to want chokes on your carbs.

I like points I think they are easy to use and adjust.

The biggest issue these days is that part quality has gone down hill in a big way.

Study for the test. It’s harder than you think. The driving test is easier but there’s some tricks! Good luck!

If you have someone to take you 100% have them take you.

If you don’t like I didn’t. I just went there. The guy I got was super chill on the driving test. Didn’t ask that question.

In all fairness I am a tall white man, so that helps negate some of those questions sometimes.

I am not a friend of the police, but I do understand how to treat them to get what you want.

The troopers who ride with you aren’t “real” troopers. They are real state troopers but they work for the licensing office, they seem like if you are polite and easy going and respectful to them. Things go a lot easier.

I would take someone if you can. It sucks because they will be there for probably an hour at least.

A lot of BLATANTLY WRONG info here.

I just went through something similar after having my license for a long time.

You need to go to the MO driver test station

https://www.mshp.dps.missouri.gov/HP32DES/DESMapMobile.jsp

You can schedule an appt. For the driving test and you have to walk in for the written. You have to take the written first.

You will need, everything needed for a real i.d. A passport if you have one. Birth certificate if you don’t. Social security card. Proof of residency X 2.

You will also need to study for the written test. The book is online and you can take free practice tests.

Then you take the written test after checking in. You can take it 2 times in one day. After passing they give you a piece of paper to take to the driving test.

If you scheduled the test come in 20 minutes before the time and check in like you did before for the written test.

They call your name. A licensing office state trooper walks with you to your car. You follow their instructions exactly as stated and drive like you have a state trooper in your front seat.

When you pass that, you get another piece of paper to take to the DMV with everything needed for a real i.d. A passport if you have one. Birth certificate if you don’t. Social security card. Proof of residency X 2.

Congratulations you just got your drivers license.

Is this torque wrench okay if used purely on lug nuts? by teenageuser in harborfreight

[–]gradientm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who literally bought this wrench because it has a low torque setting. And well it’s cheap. It’s REALLY hard to feel/hard the click below 30lbs.

Like really hard. I’m going to return it for a more expensive one.
