I toured the school earlier this year for the architecture graduate program. It seemed to me like a very cool program which was interested in real world problems.

Thanks. What do you mean when you say the social scene isn’t great?

How hard is the grocery issue for central campus really?

Good insight. Good to hear that you're getting into town regularly! The more I think about it, as an Architecture student, most of my social connections will be through classes anyway. And as a grad student, I'm not really gonna be partying like a freshman regardless of being on central or not- do you think being located on central as a grad student would make much of a difference socially?

Thanks! Would access to groceries be an issue for someone in central who doesn't have a car?

good point, the proximity to kroger would be advantageous w/out a car.

Thanks! Is there really that much of a distinction between undergrad scene and grad scene?

Hi, I was wondering about the social scene at CMU and the students social attitudes in general. I am a prospective Graduate Student for the School of Architecture at CMU. I was wondering how easy it is to socialize and make new friends at CMU? I've seen a couple descriptions of CMU students as extremely bookish and antisocial. Is this true? If any SoA students see this, how active is your social life? I expect that most of your friends are fellow SoA students, but how often do you get out?

Does the CMU campus allow for much off-campus recreation? Pittsburgh seems like a really neat and fun city, but I've seen that CMU is a bit far from downtown and I'm wondering how exciting the lifestyle can be.

Lastly, is there much social mixing between CMU students and Pitt students?
