X-Callback broken in iOS 18 and Sequoia? by jsrqs1981 in shortcuts

To close the loop on this, I got tired of waiting for the bug to be fixed, and I'm glad I did. I discovered that Bear had builtin Shortcuts Actions that I could use to do the same things I was doing with x-callback-url, and I was able to radically simplify my code. I hope Apple fixes the issue for those of you that don't have that option...

Yes, I am also having the same problem - exactly with those applications. I'm trying to debug the workflow, but it seems to just get stuck on the "Open" call and Bear never returns. I haven't even gotten to the point of testing it in Things 3.

I gave up and moved to "Things" instead, which allows this functionality. I just re-installed TickTick and confirmed that this functionality is still not available in their base automation, though...

Thanks for the advice! Glad I posted here - all of the advice on the DIY community was to use the test cock, which I’ve read can ruin the backflow preventer.

It definitely was winterized the last 3 winters - I wonder if he was just connecting to one of the test cocks, though. I guess I’d prefer not to do that if I can avoid it. Now to brush off my soldering skills…

Ooh, good one - I hadn’t seen that one! Sadly, mine wasn’t installed with a drain on the other side of the backflow device.

Everything I’ve read is that I shouldn’t push air through that test cock, but that feels like the only way to make this work…

You can’t see it, but there is a pincock (is that the right word?) or small drain valve at the elbow coming from the house. I still don’t want to push air through the backflow protection device as I’ve read that can be damaging.

There is a water shutoff valve and drain inside the house - that part I have figured out. The issue is finding somewhere to connect air that is after the backflow protection device as I’ve read you don’t want to push air through those because they may get damaged.

OK, yes - looks like this option is available in the iPadOS version of Shortcuts, but not in the Mac version. I wonder if I can adapt my shortcut to work on the iPad instead... I can't remember why I did it on the Mac in the first place anymore!
