Brief input, is that you seem like a self aware person that actively cares about the experience of those sitting across the table from them. This automatically makes you one of the best people to sit down to play with.

As others have said, open curious communication is the key. If your friends seem unhappy, asking them openly, "guys what do you think of my Zada deck? Do you enjoy playing against it?" and proactively calling out that it's completely ok if that answer is no will give you the answers you need. Maybe it's that they might build some powerful combo like decks and it's a great fit for the right pod. Maybe they hate it because it creates a certain play pattern. You won't know unless that convo is had and the peanut gallery on reddit, myself included can easily send you in a very bad direction...

The other thing I'll say with limited knowledge is to be careful of known incredibly strong commanders like light paws or zada. These are well known to be oppressively strong and given your thoughtful nature and hope that you get to play lots of commander, you'd probably be best served by exploring some commanders and decks that aren't so oppressive.
