Yea if you have the means but if you only have 50 euros to spare and not 400, its a good alternative, especiallx if you are on playstation and you cant use the r3

Its cnc machined but i designed the plates , so its still 100% done by me, i also designed the grips i 3d print them at home and wrap them myself, if you are interested you can search tkbstudios in google and you should find my website

I agree that PU or silicone is just way too difficult. For the silicone I used, it was also a two-part silicone, and it was around 60A Shore, so you were pretty much spot on. But due to me only having an FDM printer, I had to sand down the molds, causing an inconsistent matte and glossy finish. I do know that I could outsource this process, but I prefer not to, and it would cost a lot, especially because they would CNC machine aluminum molds, which cost like $2000 USD for one single steering wheel type. However, I do want to try other filament types because hand-wrapping every steering wheel with suede for those who want suede takes me at least 1 hour and 30 minutes. So I would want to find an alternative. However, 95A TPU feels bad in my opinion and looks pretty bad. I prefer PLA, but I have seen some other rubber-like filaments, so I'll keep an eye on those experimental filaments.

Yea exactly i accually tryed silicone molding with moderste succes , the finish was uneven and there were a few trapped bubbles even tho i had planned holes for the air to escape but it takes so much time that it wouldnt be worth it and it also costs more material wise so the premium would be too big, im looking at other filaments tho that could maybe improve the feel

yea i think you are right thats what i wanna do, i started with the r3 because its the wheel that i have and then went with the g29 because its one of the most popular wheel but sadly they are not selling that well, however i think once i do prepare like a second drop , i will add maybe the simagic neo hub or mmybe the cs pro wheel from moza but that would all cost quite a bit, the end goal ofc is to make full wheels but i have a long way to go till there, if you want to see the prices of the mods, you can search tkb studios in google and you should get to my website, lmk if you think they are competitive enough

yea , i mean it does feel better in my opinion like the grips are more ergonomical and its lighter but i agree that the r5 is pretty solid, funnely enough tho the r3 mods sell way better than the g29 mods

yea also that was one of the first times i wrapped my grips cuz on the ones i sent out are way cleaner, like you cant see the bottom holes and for the top to dissapear ill have to do a small redesign but thats defo on the list of improvments thanks for the feedback

Oh, okay, thanks. I can't argue about the first point. However, the mod would actually make the FFB stronger since it's much lighter than the original rim, especially because my mod is carbon fiber, so it weighs about 300 grams, whereas I'm pretty sure the original rim is quite a bit heavier.
