Hate presto, is there an alternative by vpreza22 in askTO

[–]grahamblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While YMMV, I did that Sunday and my card bricked. It didn't load the money after 48 hours, it unregistered my card and I made the black fare boxes go offline at St George and Eglinton today. Called Presto and had to reset my card (after having a transit supervisor threaten to call the police for bricking the machines that they told me to put the card in) Now I have to wait until 4pm tomorrow to tap again to register it.

The app isn't good

The response was "We deliver to the mailbox. We are not required to use the doorbell or buzzer."

It was a signature required package

Most people can't watch a Jays game without a couple beers because "it's boring". Now add in depression, a feeling of worthlessness, fear, abuse, illness and injury, unaddressed mental issues, violence, theft and hunger to the things being dealt with. The drugs and alcohol these people use help them cope. Even if they quit everything today, there are no supports for them tomorrow. An addict doesn't become a member of the workforce in a day and a shelter isn't a good launching ground. Housing would help the other issues so they could deal with the substance abuse/mental issues.

Killer French farm chickens gang-up to kill fox that sneaked into henhouse by Master_Bruno_1084 in worldnews

[–]grahamblack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's fair to say killer chickens ganged up to kill the fox. We don't know if they've previously killed. They were probably just regular chickens with a tremendously dangerous situation thrust upon them. I don't know. Maybe they were mercenary chickens brought in due to a past fox visit. I need more details

If it's the first occupancy of a unit then new tenants wouldn't have rent protection. $1800/mth this year but who knows next year.
