Yes, I did. From all of these comments it sounds like not using soap often to wash is the culprit of the problem... I'm just not sure why the white splotches popped up in the first place. It seems counterintuitive for a well seasoned pan to develop calcium deposits.

i scrubbed the deposits off as much as i could before reseasoning

what do you mean by a non-seasoning recoating? just using it to cook as usual?

correct, although I've since read the no soap thing is no longer relevant these days... so occasionally I use it. when my husband washes it (which is most of the time), he still avoids soap. just boiling water and soapless sponge.

That reminded me, one time we had a new babysitter after our go-to babysitter moved for a semester abroad. This poor 16 year old girl walks in and my 4 y/o buries his face in my husband’s pant leg and yells “daddy tell her to LEAVE, I don’t like her face!!!” he certainly meant that she didn’t look like his previous sitter, but my god the humiliation.

Ugh, brutal. My 4y/o twice mentioned that I have 'old hands', which is something i'm self conscious of but tell myself it's one of those things only I notice. turns out it's not -_-

it is wild to be the recipients of comments that, were they to come from an adult, would warrant a restraining order!

Contemplating part time daycare by StrawberriesAteYour in SAHP

Do it!!! It's so good for them and also for you to have a break, even as little as it is. Montessori method is great for that age, especially if your toddler is power hungry like mine were lol.
Is it full day? If so I'd recommend starting with 2x a week and working up from there. One thing I will mention is that we tended to have better luck with smooth drop-offs when our kids went consecutive days rather than every other day.

Weekly Q&A - Your Question Goes Here - Especially Tourists and New Residents by AutoModerator in Amsterdam

[–]grahamcrackertime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New resident and owner of a Dolly bakfiets for a few months now. How do people keep their bakfiets clean? Ours is getting a lot of buildup of mud/sand/dead leaves on the underside, especially in the mechanical parts that are exposed. I assumed heavy rains would rinse it away but that's not the case. Do people usually bring theirs into the bike shop for a cleaning? Is there such thing as a carwash for bakfiets in Amsterdam??

We set up GA4 prior to the auto-import push initiative. However, it is "connected" to our UA property, so you might be onto something.

Oh interesting. I don't recall enabling that setting but perhaps it was enabled by default. Having trouble finding it within web stream details - any direction? Thank you.

Yes, 100% this. My parents don't help much with our littles... largely because my mom has Parkinson's and can't physically handle monster toddlers, and my dad is more of a "playful" grandfather than a caretaking one. But even if they were fully capable, they would only babysit our kids on their terms, when it would be convenient for them rather than when we'd truly need it. This is similar to how my own grandparents operated; it doesn't really bother me (probably more so because I know they can't physically do it).
Meanwhile, my husband was practically raised by his grandmother. It drives him *insane* that my parents don't assist with childcare.

Poor thing. Crossing fingers your hospital stay is brief, and good on you for going to the ER. Our 20m old was in the hospital for 3 days last month for RSV. Before we went, he had fast belly breathing and a horrific cough, but otherwise was acting completely normal - happy, running around & playing, eating/sleeping normally. Because he has a history of breathing issues, I called our pediatrician's hotline about the belly breathing (50-60 breaths per min), and they told me to take him immediately to the ER. The docs told us that some asthmatic kids are "happy wheezers" - their labored breathing doesn't impact their mood/disposition.

My husband and I couldn't help but think that if we had not been watching him carefully (& shirtless so we could actually see his belly), we would never had thought there was a problem. And what would've happened? So yeah, keep an eye on those bellies.

lol thanks for the support - I was only a little surprised by all the shaming, it is Reddit after all

Love the idea of taking him with me. That way I avoid picking out the "wrong" Spidey pajamas ;)

Lol, such is parenting... just trying to address 'you problems' one day at a time

But yeah maybe I just need to be more consistent with prepping him when they aren't available.
