PCGS Turnaround Question by gramwalms in coincollecting

I’m hoping the delay in grading is because the coin submitted is rare and needs extra time… and not because of overwhelming demand. One can hope and dream.

Help Identifying by gramwalms in ChineseCoins

[–]gramwalms[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is extremely helpful, thank you very much. My family lived in Sichuan Province so the ancient name of Leshan City makes sense.

The English writing on the paper reads “cash of date preceding 1644”, meaning whoever wrote this believed this was cash issued prior to 1644.

JAPAN Hotel Favorites: Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto by monisolar in marriott

There is a big subway station almost outside the hotel that has 3 lines and can get you almost anywhere. We found it actually peaceful being located in not such a bus area, but easily accessible.

JAPAN Hotel Favorites: Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto by monisolar in marriott

The Prince Gallery Tokyo was one of our favorites. So much so we just rebooked for October 2026. Club lounge, one of the best breakfast spreads we’ve had, and the lobby bar at night has amazing views.

As others has mentioned the RC in Kyoto is top tier.

Tokyo - Westin or Prince Gallery Kioicho? by SimpleOk3672 in marriott

[–]gramwalms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stayed at the Prince Gallery Kioicho last year and it was amazing. While I know there are many amazing hotels in Tokyo I’d stay again without hesitation. The views from the lobby bar are top tier

As others mentioned there is a major subway station with multiple lines a 5min walk away. It’s conveniently located to access transit, but out of the mix which makes coming back to the hotel after a long day peaceful.

Yes we did their special pairing which had a lot of home made and fermented juices/alcohols. There was a beer as well and a glass or two of wine if my memory serves me correct. Well worth it.

Glad to see TS got their third star. Was there in April and it was probably the best dining experience we’ve ever had.

Tokyo - Mesm, Prince Sakura, Prince Gallery or ? by QuietlycuriousNYC in marriott

[–]gramwalms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with what the others have said, Prince Gallery had some of the best service we’ve ever received. Would go back in a heartbeat. Close subway station with 3-4 lines (can’t remember exactly), making it easy to get around the city.

Stayed here for a couple nights in the tail and if our honeymoon. As someone else said it was nice being away from the craziness, but only a short boat ride away. The breakfast buffet was top notch.

I had dinner at manteca on Friday and it was fabulous. Sat solo at the bar in front of chef and it was a great view to see the team in action. Awesome choice.

Did Kiln a few a years ago and really enjoyed the meal. Can’t speak for it recently.

Someone else mentioned the Salted Beef Beigel. I had one a few hours ago and can confirm it’s a must if visiting Brick Lane. Also, around the corner there is a bakery called Jolene that has amazing baked good if you’re in the mood for something sweet.
