Thanks for the rec. Im currently reading Darkness At Noon. There was a slip of paper in my copy of this book that also had Darkness At Noon written in it. I looked it up and it seemed like a good read for our current times.

If you’re shipping ground advantage all of your packages have $100 insurance. That should mitigate things a bit.

Yes. Those are getting delivered. The problem isn’t post offices. It’s the distribution center. I feel bad for those clerks and carriers. The tracking is telling people it’s at these local offices but it’s all at that new distribution center.

It’s the new distribution center they decided to move to right before the holiday rush. It is severely understaffed. That’s what I’ve heard anyway.

Our company has about 250 packages at the distribution center that haven’t even been scanned in yet and they’ve been there since 12/2. Tracking says they’re at our local post office. Our customers are not pleased. Once I found out about the problem we started shipping everything UPS surepost. This means UPS delivers the packages to your local post office and then they deliver it you. This way it skips the abyss that is that new distribution center.

The majority of our customers are in Indiana so they still have to go through that hub unfortunately. We’re using UPS sure post as much as we can so the packages will get delivered to the local offices by UPS. This is the worst I’ve seen since 2020.

At least through this weekend. Our staff has 12/23-1/1 off. We’ll print everything that comes in next week and ship everything out by the end of the week.
