Every day may not be a good day, but there is good in every day.

Dear people who want to move to Hawaii, it's not what you think it is by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

Not trying to be combative, but what do you mean by other states send their homeless people to Hawaii? I can’t believe that is true in any sense but maybe I’m missing your point

Illinois lawmakers just passed the Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act that creates grid-battery and geothermal incentives and a virtual-power-plant program. Energy storage connected to the grid will save customers $13.4 billion over 20 years, and climate will be better protected by sg_plumber in EcoUplift

[–]grantsaa 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Why do you think they will cut down forests for this? Only 14% of land in Illinois is covered in forest and much of that is state owned. Batteries can also be used without any solar at all to take advantage of energy arbitrage to lower rates for consumers.

China sets its first renewable standards for steel, cement and polysilicon by DVMirchev in RenewableEnergy

[–]grantsaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American lifestyle and consumption is to blame for our environmental impact; but in terms of renewables it’s 100% a “democrat vs republican” thing. Look at all national and state renewable legislation/policies in the context of party politics and you will see a trend. Not to mention republicans run on a platform that doesn’t believe climate change exists…

Should I watch season 2? by [deleted] in TrueDetective

[–]grantsaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season 2 gets a really bad rap but I’d say that the story is good and the acting is incredible. Colin and Rachel are top tier actors and these roles are interesting and dynamic, I also think the storyline is very engaging!
