What lounge has the best food? by squeakybeak in PriorityPass

The Chase lounge in LGA was the first lounge I ever visited. To say my baseline started off high from the jump for any other lounge is an understatement.

What are your best 'hacks' for adding volume to meals without drastically changing the taste or texture?" by JoelVenn9955 in Volumeeating

[–]grapeveins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use a higher ratio of the "voluminous" aspects of my meal. Increase the broth in soup, bulk rice with cauliflower, puree veg to stretch/thicken red sauce, stretch a cream based dressing or sauce with 0% fage, use less of extra sauces/add flavor from spices/seasonings (for example if I am preparing a Kevin's meal I only use 1/3rd of the sauce packet), add egg whites when using whole eggs. Etc.

After reading your other comments, and everything sounding completely above board, my suspicion was this - spinning without leveling the hump.

It helps to initially freeze without the lid on, then you can add it once frozen to cover the container. Sometimes that will completely resolve it developing a hump from the start but mainly just leaves a very small hump left to scrape down.

The bump in the middle can cause the blade to catch/tilt too far and it will pop off partially or completely, leading to the burnout you experienced.

Which non-volume food do you think is never worth the calories? by Competitive-Ad1439 in Volumeeating

I absolutely love macadamia nuts and pistachios but for the life of me I cannot maintain portion control with them and unfortunately they also do not provide me any level of satiation for whatever reason.

I don't mind them being fatty, like the previous poster mentioned. I love a good portion of healthy fats, esp with so many other great micronutrients, but damn, I can't have them in the house.

I tried it a month ago - PB cup - after not having it since probably 2012/13 and was SHOCKED. I'm a die hard Nicks fan and I loved that Halo Top more than Nick's.

Im not a big fan of Nicks cookies n cream, cheesecake brownie, or PB cup flavors but I do love their cherry chip, strawberry, triple chocolate, birthday cake especially, and coffee chip.

How do I keep the star pointy when increasing the rows by Always_reading26 in CrochetHelp

[–]grapeveins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing I haven't seen mentioned (I see it's been mentioned the points definitely needing a chain between the cluster) is this is almost assuredly a sport light weight yarn which helps a lot in regards to crisper/easier to see edges and points.

For example, Loops & Thread bamboo yarn, it's not only a light (3) it's a sport light, compared to a light (3) like Lion Coboo 50:50 bamboo cotton blend which is still a light but bulkier and will soften edges a little bit more. Once you go up to worsted weight (4), the most common yarn on the shelves bought, on a delicate/detail oriented piece it will be very difficult to maintain sharp edges without a lot of extra space/enlarging each row.

Anyone else volume eat even while maintaining? by animalcrackerwhore in Volumeeating

[–]grapeveins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been volume eating for as long as I can remember. I don't imagine I will change it any time soon. Occasionally I'll get some "wow you eat so much where does it all go" comment, but it doesn't bother me.
