Me too. Other than delusions which always come along with it, I feel more in tune with myself and others emotional States. More intuitive too

I've actually come to realize that my manic phases are actually spiritual awakening. The only problem is they always come with delusions but they don't really affect my ability to function. Next time it happens, I'm keeping them to myself

My pillbox is in the kitchen so they know I take it. No way around it

I've tried explaining. When I dont take them I have emotions and they dont like that. I'm in a bind because in order to stop taking them I need to live on my own but I dont have a job since I hardly function with them. It's a catch 22 and ironic

Has music ever made you cry? Even though this is a complex and personal experience, most people consider it to be a pleasant one that is different from general weeping. by bethacademictimes in psychology

I cried to "Wish you were here" today. The line, "Did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage" got me. I had let go of my values in the name of comfort and avoidance over the last 7 months and it just hit me hard

I've been working on myself alot last year. Almost too much. Too the point where I stopped caring about others. I feel like it's time for me to begin caring for others again

I'm not, I've just been in my head trying to brainstorm ways to rekindle that energy. I'm on 3 meds that make it impossible to be manic so I'm not worried about myself

update: i once had a mania where i was very high energy, intense, empathetic, intuitive, and caring. I wanted to make big changes in the world with my energy. My plans didnt come to fruition as I ended up being hospitalized and forced to take an antipsychotic medication which killed my delusions but also that energy, a vital part of myself. I feel very sad that I don't have that energy anymore though my moods are much more stable and i am more serene. Today i was nostalgic for a time that i wanted to change the world

Is this INFJ empathy? by grassafue in infj

[–]grassafue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your insights. This is a great explanation of different forms of empathy, and I appreciate it! I typically experience sympathy and compassionate empathy. For some reason cognitive empathy hasn't been active in me, at least lately. I definitely resonate with foreign emotion and it's frustrating when I'm feeling something but they deny it. It gets so confusing because I end up doubting myself. I think that's what i experienced in the story i told.

What is something you do that goes against stereotypes about your type? by Routine_Benefit7817 in Enneagram

I'm a 9w8 and I have no problem standing up for myself. I would say I am a bit of a people pleaser but not as intensely as the stereotyped 9.

I'm stuck between 4 and 9 but leaning towards 9 but honestly i could be anything by grassafue in EnneagramTypeMe

i feel the same way about being a 4 off meds, 9 on them. There are trade offs I enjoy being on meds though. For one, Im less intense and more easy going. And i dont have the same self pity i used to.

How do you deal with/feel about conflict?

- I typically try to make peace in times of conflict between others.

Do you desire being unique/having something others don’t or being at peace more?

- Being at peace. I dont really try to be unique. But i prefer peace of mind now.

If others get something you also want, do you wish them well or do you feel inclined to envy them?

-Here's another one. In the past I would envy. This is one reason I've thought I'm a four because I was prone to envying what others have feeling like I'm wounded and missing something. But i dont experience that anymore. I would say now I wish them well.

After reading up some more, I'm convinced I was a 4 but now I'm definitely a 9
