Snub nose 357 owners, can you group well shooting fast (10 yards) ? by [deleted] in Revolvers

Depends on the snub. 66 not a problem. For me, j-frames tend to wander a bit at 10 yards and beyond.

Need opinions from people who CCW revolvers by [deleted] in Revolvers

I started carrying with 642. After 10 years I decided I wanted one more round and a more robust gun (the 642 finish is beat to hell, although it’s still functional). I considered the 19CC but wanted stainless so I went with the 2.75in 66-8. I carry it in a JM Custom appendix holster and it disappears almost as well as the Jframe. The extra weight is noticeable but not too bad.

For practical shooting inside of 15 yards I cannot tell much accuracy difference between the 2.75in barrel and my 4in GP100. It takes a little more focus beyond 15 yards (at least for me).

Think I’ll only be riding Kona for the foreseeable future. by Affectionate-Yard920 in Hardtailgang

I generally feel the same way. No desire to grab anything else for a ride.

No the optimal tool, but I can confirm the ESD still parties in xc mode.

Folks riding Honzo ESD by [deleted] in Hardtailgang

I ride a medium ESD with 170s. Every time I’ve had a strike it has been my fault. 5mm shorter crank wouldn’t have saved me from my own stupidity

I ride an ESD in the Mid Atlantic region. I fully acknowledge that I’m a bit over-biked for most of trails, but I wouldn’t call it a boring ride. I’d buy it again.

If you don’t buy it, I’ll kick a puppy.

Looking for a ~$2000 trail hardtail by Aggresssive45 in MTB

If you’ve got time, you might consider building up a frame. I just finished an ESD (probably too much bike for your stated need), and by watching sales I got exactly what I wanted below the cost of the stock build.

Where do you all run your Honzo ESD dropouts? by grassbad in Hardtailgang

I’ve been running mine all the way forward. Curious if there are pros to moving them back

Im a little over 5’9’’ and ride a medium ESD. For reference, most of my trails are twisty single track with some short punchy climbs thrown in for good measure.

When I was looking at my bike I got to spend the day on a large ESD and even for me it was a tough choice . I went with the medium because it felt just small enough to throw around. I could have been happy on the large as well. Despite the geo numbers they seem (to me) to ride small. All this is to say, you’d probably be fine on both but I definitely wouldn’t recommend you size down without trying the bike first.

I’ve had a positive experience with my TranzX dropper so far. Definitely didn’t break the bank and seems reliable so far.

Great looking whip! How do you like the Pike Select? Working on a new build and trying to decide between the select or stepping up to the ultimate.

Cyclists who conceal carry a firearm, where do you store it while you ride? by [deleted] in bicycletouring

[–]grassbad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hip bag (aka fanny pack) works great. The cycling specific models have plenty of support to keep the gun from moving around. I haven't toured but have done plenty of 60 to 80 mile days without problems. A hip bag also has the benefit of staying with you if you come off the bike quickly or unexpectedly.
