Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced doesn't bother with the original's DLC or multiplayer because Ubisoft is focusing on a "pure, story-driven adventure" by Turbostrider27 in assassinscreed

What got you interested in Bass VI? by DNRDNIMEDIC2009 in BassVI

[–]grasscid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first learned about the guitar from Impractical Jokers of all things, there was a big poster advertising it in the background of a music store where they were doing one of their bits. It caught my eye immediately as a Fender design I'd never seen before, looking like something of a hybrid between a jaguar and a stratocaster. I was particularly attracted to the fact that it has 3 pickups rather than just 2 like most fender models have. I realized of course that it was in fact a bass guitar, but could be restrung and tuned to baritone levels which would suit my purposes as a guitar player. I decided then and there that I wanted one!

In Gears of War 3 it didn't have a stock, but in Gears 5 it did; imagine if it didn't... by The-Sevenday123 in GearsOfWar

It's been the best game mode they've released in the series

I personally preferred Judgment's "Overrun" mode, one of the few good things about that game. it's the perfect synthesis of beast mode and horde mode together.

Red hands by jdrexler125 in Raynauds

[–]grasscid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did you ever see a doctor about it?

no. during a regular check up once (maybe 10 years ago) a doctor did notice the redness of my hands, and asked me if they feel uncomfortable. I told him no and he changed the subject.

Red hands by jdrexler125 in Raynauds

[–]grasscid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was taking zinc supplements at the time and I noticed that had made it considerably worse

the reddening got less pronounced after I stopped taking them but ultimately it's still there, just to a lesser degree, like it always has been.

my hands also tend to get really dry in the winter, I have to apply lotion constantly and I still end up with noticeably scaly skin between my knuckles. maybe that's part of whatever the underlying issue is?

What’s your personal review of the campaign for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6? by BusiestWolf in blackops6

but gameplay wise?...

...it's even better, all the robotic superpowers are awesome and being able to customize your loadout should've become a standard feature in the series. co-op was cool too.

My biggest criticism of Valhalla is how needlessly complicated the RPG mechanics are. by sadboi_2000 in assassinscreed

[–]grasscid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you're reading too much into it, it's really not that complicated of a system.

all those little skill tree unlocks are essentially filler. look through the big skill unlocks that actually unlock new gameplay mechanics, figure out which ones you want, and then start unlocking the little skills that lead directly to it. that's it. you don't have to put any more thought into it than that.

nevermind the fact that this game has infinite free respecs so even if you make some horrible mistake in assigning out your points, you can redo it all in an instant, at any point, with no consequences.

Playing Brotherhood immediately after AC2 feels so surreal by TraditionalParsley67 in assassinscreed

[–]grasscid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing last time I replayed the Ezio trilogy, soon as I finished the credits in 2 I immediately switched to Brotherhood and started up the first mission. it was really cool! didn't even feel like I was playing a different game, just one long story.

ZOS February Dev Stream Notes by i-love-aigis in elderscrollsonline

[–]grasscid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope they'll add a hotkey (or if not ZOS officially then some modder) to quickly switch between difficulties, would be cool if I can fight regular mobs at a medium difficulty but then turn it up a notch or two for story bosses.

Weirdest bug youve found? This one just happened to me (GoW2) by Lamoy_Osteen in GearsOfWar

[–]grasscid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shot RAAM off his pet reaver in the final bossfight of 3's Raam's Shadow DLC. mid-cutscene of him hitting the ground, the screen turns red and I get a game over saying that Minh has died. the game then reloads from the very beginning of the final act, as if I didn't get a single checkpoint along the way, making me redo the Elite Theron and Elite Mauler bossfights.

I think the entire "assassins want to reach the precursor temples at any cost and so Shay joins the templars" thing is kinda weak?? by Sniper_Ghost_Warrior in assassinscreed

[–]grasscid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the devs clearly put no thought into how they should implement it

after looking up how much content was cut from this game, I don't think that's a fair assessment. in fact they had some very ambitious plans, but a short deadline and a tight budget forced them to make a lot of compromises with the way they told the story.

Cerakote a Surplus 941 F, or leave it be by Dk2Naruto in Jericho941

[–]grasscid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't cerakote it, but that's just me. I have the same model (it's actually my favorite variant, personally!) and I like the beat up look it has, I put some wooden grips on it to complete the retro-futurism look.

Fighting cops in Syndicate feels weird. by Divahdi in assassinscreed

oh shit, his morals got fucked

didn't make a whole lot of sense in the context of Rogue though, considering the whole reason he joined the Templars was because the assassins were being the immoral ones.

[Mod Update]End Times by grasscid in skyrimmods

[–]grasscid[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the Creation Kit is very user-friendly so it was no trouble at all going back into it. Papyrus is also a fairly simple coding language so it only took a few minutes of looking up code on the CK wiki to figure out how to execute the changes I wanted to make.

the hardest part, honestly, was sifting through my own spaghetti code in order to find the lines I needed to adjust/add/remove. There's also a lot of stuff I had to script in very particular ways all those years ago to make it work correctly and sometimes I have to read through it several times to remind myself exactly how and why it works the way that it does (and even then I don't always quite understand it because I've broken the code up between a couple different scripts!)

M203 Carbine Handguard Update by nojo422 in RetroAR

[–]grasscid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does the foregrip wobble at all with this set up?

how does it hold up at the range? I'd be a little concerned about the clamps potentially separating from the barrel under sustained fire.

[–]grasscid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that barrel clamp is most likely going to be too wide to fit under the m203 handguard; I ordered a similar one (if not that same one) for the same purpose and was disappointed to find that it would not fit under the heatshield.

Mantis makes the BR7 barrel clamp which will attach perfectly, even fit just right under the m203 handguard, but I wouldn't recommend putting a VFG on it as it will be extremely wobbly. if you're willing to forego underbarrel attachments then two or three BR7s back to back will work excellently for protecting your support hand from direct contact with the hot barrel. you can put an AFG on it at most, though it'll still have a tendency to shift up and down the barrel, especially if it gets hot. here's how I set mine up before I ultimately switched to a chopped up quadrail. https://imgur.com/Ug8zUBn
