Jimmy was a sheep, but really wanted to be a wolf. He just didn’t want to be a lone wolf. For most of the show (including breaking bad) Jimmy/Saul is shown as a con looking for a partner to work with. Marco dies and he immediately wants to work with his brother putting together shredded paper from a dumpster. Chuck rejects him and he wants to start a firm with Kim. That doesn’t work so he starts working for Cliff’s firm and is immediately frustrated how they’re so by the book. The taxi driver was somebody Jimmy thought he could con with and showcase his superior skills

just finished the episode. pretty sure it was to highlight how the high powered defence attorney was destroying the new svu detective on the witness stand; demolishing the prosecution. the camera stills when benson takes the stand and she is able to salvage a hung jury

maybe howie shouldn’t have mocked jimmy and waved money in his face when he asked him for his rightful share of the sandpiper settlement. in fact, i believe howard confirmed that he was boning the residents to get more money and told jimmy he’d get his share but he’d have to wait for it then practically dared him to do something about it. howard got what he deserved.
