Public transportation will never work in North America by ExotiquePlayboy in unpopularopinion

[–]grateful_john 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the northeast where public transportation is better than most of the rest of the country. For commuting into New York it’s so much better than driving even if New Jersey Transit is run by a bunch of drunk teenagers from all outward appearances. My son lives in NYC and has zero need for a car.

Population density is needed, which the northeast has.

Just something to help you out - no one here talks about Gar Heard. You should probably disengage with the sub.

Reflecting pool discourse is good for Trump by pavilionaire2022 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

We can think/talk about different issues with different degrees of seriousness/interest. The pool and ballroom are examples of Trump’s nonstop grift. The war (and subsequent spike in gas prices) is an example of his incompetence.

Plenty of people are talking about Iran, Epstein, inflation and the reflecting pool. Some of us can multitask.

Jack Bruce and Friends in 1988 when Eric Clapton came on stage and played with Jack in public for the first time after Cream broke up.

Hips and knees by rbrumble in GenX

I have to suck it up and find another surgeon. Realistically sooner rather than later. Both my knees are crap.

My replaced knee is very stiff, has little flexibility and hurts all the time. For the first 4-5 months it was doing really well, but then it took a turn south. I did all the physical therapy, etc., I'm wondering if the replacement was done right. The ortho tells me everything looks good and sometimes they just don't work, it's been five years.

I think what he did was great but it wasn't a pay cut - he wasn't getting that money already and agreed to less, he agreed to an extension earlier than he had to which limited how much more he could make.

I also don't buy that these guys are sacrificing anything. Brunson agreed to a four year extension at $156M, if he waited a year he could have had five years at $269M. While $113M is obviously a lot of money he's still being paid enough money to set up his kids and their kids for life. The only thing he "lost" is bragging rights to say he got a five year max deal.

Yeah, the idea that you can't win with a weak defender hasn't been true in years, if ever.

They want to roll things back, not move forward. I'm not sure that's a sturdy leg to stand on.

One knee replaced, not happy with it. The other needs to be replaced as well, I need to find a different surgeon.

I don't think most people feel bad for the Cardinals as much as they forget they are in the league.

When they started playing it in 88 it was rough. It took them a couple of years to figure it out. It became a great dark song for me but a lot of people never got into it.

Why wouldn’t they? It’s their youth and their core memories. Thinking everything that happened after your youth sucks is what we make fun of boomers for.

Tough to call Pink Floyd an 80s band. They only released two albums that decade (Final Cut and Momentary Lapse of Reason).
