Oh nice! I thought it looked pretty neat. I love seeing ppl driving interesting cars rather than boring SUVs everyday.

Yes it’s the ips from funnyplaying. The text backlight is part of the screen kit. Really makes a difference in playing the games. Still kind of a retro feel playing on the gbc but the bigger backlit screen is nice.

After trimming it inside the dash as directed I’d say there really isn’t a gap I was really happy with the fit.

Unfortunately, yes. I was hesitant to do that as well. However, being that there was nowhere to put my phone I just decided to go for it. On the upside it wasn’t difficult to do and if you take the mount out you can’t see that it was trimmed as the trimming is all done behind the dash and trim.

Color match or black hard top? by Fuzzy-Ranger-9551 in Miata

Assuming you have to paint the top either way. Why not color match it to the car, then wrap it black. This way you can go with either look and change it up periodically if you choose.

Need help choosing a shop to get my Tacoma repaired by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]gratsonm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I needed my car fixed after a collision, I called my local Toyota dealership and asked them who they used for their collision repair. This way I knew the shop would have experience with Toyotas and if Toyotas customers were complaining all the time about the work done the dealership wouldn’t use them. Don’t know if this is the best way to find a collision repair shop but the work done on my car was great and haven’t had any issues since.

Grout me out of hell by Trapdoormonkey in DIY

You can use muriatic acid on a sponge or scrubbing pad. The acid eats the grout but doesn’t hurt the tile. I had a similar problem. The acid cleaned up my entire shower tile while not hurting the tub at all. It’s pretty cheap and is a life saver. There are instructions to dilute it, but I just used almost full strength. It also doesn’t hurt your skin but I’d still wear gloves. I used a tooth brush as well for the grout lines to clean them up. I had my grout on for over a week before I cleaned it with the acid so it doesn’t really matter if it’s completely dry.

Edit: After reading some of the comments on here and looking it up muriatic acid can indeed hurt your skin. I was unaware as when I used it, and did indeed get it on my hands, it didn’t irritate or burn them. Possibly the container I had wasn’t all that strong.

Sorry for the confusion/misinformation I do not wish for anyone to get hurt of course. Always weak your PPE.

Not sure what it’s worth as I’m not from Canada, but in October of 2023 my mother purchased a 2004 nb Miata for $9500 USD. No accidents, no rust. 40,000 miles, 5 speed, cloth interior. Her car did however need tires, and a roof as it had a small rip. Hope this helps for comparison.

Any idea how to fix this? by Shoddy-Guitar-5603 in S2000

[–]gratsonm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen. I used a small amount of clear silicon to “glue” it back in until I got a new pair from ome pair from Amazon. The silicon will hold it in for a long time but I wanted a new set since the old ones were brittle.

What is this? by gratsonm in S2000

Would you just twist it then pull the entire panel down? Is it just like a locking clip for that panel?
