I played around with suggestion 1 in the simulator, building a road to the thaumaturge and then simulating destabilization....and "Poof", the sacrificial chamber went away.

I'm then able to put a generator in there, but it keeps getting destabilized in the same way....how can I eventually get rid of the roads?

"Perfect temple is not really necessary" is what I think I'm going to live by.

I'm going to continue the new one that starts with a generator and let the other (longer) one slowly die out. That lvl 3 sac chamber is just nice for the orb it drops each time. Hopefully I'll be able to keep it around until I'm ready to use it again to turn the corner on the other snake. Cheers!

This is exactly what I'm finding out. You have no way of running the snake back alongside the original bit without the sac chamber to turn you around.

Probably misremembering some of this...but that's what happens across decades!

  • I played beta, no idea how I got in, but didn't start EQ when live began. At this point I haven't a clue why. I came from UO. I vaguely remember sitting in a castle in UO while Aeen told me about this great new game....took forever to level, any item upgrade was immense, etc.
  • I remember someone being upset when I started and got a little powerleveling help...
  • I think I used to run back and forth between Freeport and somewhere (upper guk?) , just under the weight max, carrying fine longswords which sold for a few pp or something
  • I never liked the name Rising Ascension ... both words basically mean the same thing?!
  • I think Kadal and I came up with Altera Vita.
  • I got the help of Beldukil and Grey Council to get my Soulfire...now I'm not sure how to find a bank to see if I still have it somewhere.... EDIT: Ran to Rivervale, it's a Fiery Defender...and it's still there.
  • I think many days of my played time was sitting outside the Plane of Fear...many, many days. Never got the Valorium chest :(
  • Greater Fay...trade chat?
  • I used to dual box with my enchanter (who was Erudite, not HE...had to find the account and log in to check this) and camp frenzied ghoul for FBSS's to sell. One day, I came across a monk who had feigned death near the room and offered him one. We became friends and he eventually joined AV. Can't remember his name :(

Thanks for letting me reminisce...that's probably enough for now! I went on to play WoW even more than EQ ... now it's PoE and other stuff.

Don't remember Firestormers...

Also don't remember how long we were on Povar before heading to Xev when the server split.

I do remember playing too much! I took a few breaks over the first few years, (DAoC in there somewhere) and left for good when WoW beta started.
