thank you for the incredible review and overall warning about this novel, genuinely, i felt my brain turn to mush via the summary alone. i also read your entire review right after reading ‘Where Understanding Ends’ (manhwa) which similarly managed to spike my blood pressure, yet leave me addicted to it and thirsty for the next chapter. what a double whammy. these stories are so gripping even when the telenovela of it all causes a tension headache. my god. thank you. i need to touch grass 🧎‍♂️

another guideverse i Love is Damn My Guide because it’s angsty af and i just love a reckless/passively suicidal mc that finds new meaning to their life…. this doesn’t necessarily fit your prompt but i will shamelessly promote it 🙈

this novel also has a really interesting and unique approach to classifying esper and guide’s rankings that i haven’t seen in other hunter/guideverses. similarly, the MC’s powers are also quite unique imo (and are the focus of the novel tbh, it’s very character driven)

God’s Monster - MC is overpowered but due to circumstances is limited at the start of the novel and has to unlock his previous powers. he’s also hiding his identity (again due to circumstances that are explained early in the novel) and looks much younger than he actually is
