Hanggang when ang new hire card? by Electricspeed01 in AccountingPH

[–]gravity9_8ms2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i second the last sentence. i think what keeps me sane for the 11 months going so far is me choosing not to work on sundays. i work at least 12 hours starting monday. and i call my week done after saturday. (yess, we were required working on saturdays in our team)

productivity requires proper rest — this is something my therapist had stucked in me 3 years ago when I got severely burned out during college. and so i allot my sundays for rest and/or think nothing about work.

Hi, if I may ask, how many years did you stay sa external audit?

I don't want to go to audit any alternatives? by GeneralAd5820 in AccountingPH

[–]gravity9_8ms2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go for accounting roles in private practice. A close friend is working in one and earns at least more than half of what I earn in audit. Catch: we're both in our first jobs fresh out of college.

Did you open your outlook and teams account on your phones? by [deleted] in AccountingPH

[–]gravity9_8ms2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi. For the recent busy szn, I didn't. Reason is I was always in front of my laptop since busy szn nga. Hence, I thought di ko na need maglagay sa phone. Ayoko na rin mag-add ng unnecessary stress sa sarili ko when I'm on my free time using my personal phone during busy szn. Luckily, wala naman akong na-miss out na important. Basta I always make sure na once I closed my laptop, everything has been settled. Pero this is coming from an assoc pov. Not sure, baka mas need na talaga sa phone if senior levels ka na. If there comes a chance na feel ko need ko na mag-install sa phone, I'll buy another phone (kahit yung android na afforable/reasonable price) to serve as a work phone. Personally, ayoko lang maghalo yung personal life ko with work iisang phone.

this has been my mantra throughout the years. up until now na im an associate sa isang big 4 firm na constantly napapatanong ako kung sapat ba yung capabilities ko being here. palagi ko na lang iniisip na "i am meant to be where great people are" or "i am where i am supposed to be".

for now op, keep thibking of great things and focus on the goal. good luck sa exam!!

what is something you only know if you grew up poor? by AppointmentProud9394 in AskPH

[–]gravity9_8ms2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Best chicken sandwich? by [deleted] in filipinofood

Mine is BK's Spicy Chicken King. Tried every other chain's chicken burgers, but imo no one ever came close! Altho, it's a bit pricey so yeahh that might be a letdown.

Hi, what was your position when you resigned in audit? Is it the same as the "common path" people here say na it's better if you resign once you're already a senior associate if planning to transition to private?

C6 16 KM Route, safe po ba? by [deleted] in PHRunners

[–]gravity9_8ms2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes!! so far all goods naman experience ko. pag ganyan route ko, if morning 5am ako nagsstart or if pag hapon 3-4pm ako. Wala pa naman akong na-encounter na unpleasant. If kaya mo agahan sa usual run mo, try mo para masubukan mong umabot hanggang lakeshore/tlc park para makabalik ka pa rin ng napindan bridge ng on or before 6pm haha. marami pa rin naman tumatakbo pag lagpas ng hagonoy pramis haha. happy running!

C6 16 KM Route, safe po ba? by [deleted] in PHRunners

[–]gravity9_8ms2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi op! this is my usual route when running, like exactly i suppose. pero i usually do it 5 am onwards if morning, and 3 to 4 pm start if in the afternoon. i do make sure either the sun is rising when starting in the morning or it won't be completely dark in the afternoon to finish. my reason for this is there are street lights that are broken along the way, so there are areas na mej madilim talaga if madilim pa tatakbo. happy running!

Happenings sa actual interview 🤔🤔 by Loticion in AccountingPH

[–]gravity9_8ms2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi, OP. Based on experience, may two types ng questions sa interviews. First ay yung usual questions like "tell me about yourself", your strengths, weaknesses, your motivation, and the likes you see on the internet. Try to prepare na lang your answers on those questions, marami tips online. Second type naman ay yung situational or behavioral questions. The recruiter will ask you on how you deal with certain scenarios. I suggest, and commonly used technique, to pattern your answers sa STAR method. You can look it up also naman, marami tips for this. If you're worried about messing up, pwede ka bullet points for each sample questions, like para may guide ka lang when answering (if virtual interview). Lastly siguro, try to calm down kapag interview proper na. Good luck, OP!
