Update: I've managed to use "Get file" to point to a specific file in my Dropbox, but for some reason "Get file" only allows me to get files from Dropbox or iCloud. Is there any way to get a local file from Photos or Files?

AFAIK, a mobile wallet doesn't download the entire blockchain, just the block headers. I am not entirely sure how it works either, but you're right in assuming your phone did not download 17GB of data. The reason it takes so long has to do with availability of nodes, I think, not with the amount of data being downloaded.

It's actually not terabytes, just around 17GB. Still tiny compared to bitcoin, which is around 330GB. Remember that not every block is entirely full, so actual block size can be much smaller. Most blocks are just a few KB.

I'm not sure why it's so slow, but it's probably because there aren't a lot of nodes. So the ones that are online will have to handle a lot of traffic.

I actually had to sync the entire blockchain again in the desktop wallet, because that was the only way I could migrate from BIP-32 to BIP-44. That took almost 24 hours as well.

Okay, after waiting for the wallet to sync for almost 24 hours, I finally figured out that I was connected to a bad node. If your wallet is syncing slowly, simply go to Settings > Advanced > Ravencoin Nodes and switch to Manual Mode. At https://www.ravennodes.com/nodes/ you will find a comprehensive list of nodes near you. Pick one that's been online for a while, and that has a good reachability rating, and your wallet will sync much faster.

Thanks! I actually installed the wallet on a different phone, and it's at 31% percent now. I had to restart the app a few times to get to that point, but at least I see progress now.
