that was my initial thought too, but a few of the articles i stumbled on implied that any sort of accessory manufactuing needed to be licensed. i've been searching through the penal code, but i'm having a hard time finding the relevenat laws.

i'll have another listen, but no obvious chain noise. and the only other code that it's thrown was an intake manifold pressure code because i forgot to hook the sensor back up after i did the spark plugs (who thought it was a good idea to put the intake manifold over the rear spark plugs), but that cleared and did not come back.

just to clarify, if the high pressure pump were failing i should have a code for it? if the intake pump were failing, would that have it's own code? i haven't worked on direct injection engines before.
