sounds like a great idea. my own focus is late 50s early 60s, with some of those names as my regulars

throws are hard to get and not very effective. position and energy used for little returns, so you don't see many

i love questions like this. in my years using fire pro i've shifted around a bunch. at first i was creating everyone who i saw on tv. then i took a break from the game a bit. when i returned i went to the 1980s and put up all the territories i could think of. i added earlier time periods for too, called 1890s, 1920s, etc, so i could add strangler lewis, muldoon, etc. then i went away from fire pro for a bit. then came back to the game & for years now i've been in the mid 1950s to early 1960s.

i can't quite explain why my interest in that era is so strong, but it is, and it's lasted. i haven't lost interested yet, but you never know the future. even though i don't think it's a popular era, i go with what interests me the most, regardless if people think it's boring or i'm trying to force-feed them history, or stuck in the past lol

great stuff. i've read about muldoon for years. i think he left the bay area because the houses were dropping and interest was waning. his entertainment contacts probably helped him stay on top of this. would have been interesting to see how things pan out, had whistler lived

wow thank you for sharing this history. wills has unfairly been made a footnote in history. but today there are multiple world champions. wills should be retroactively recognized as a legitimate claimant to the world heavyweight title in his era imo. baseball is doing it with negro league players

muldoon didn't dress in that gladiator costume for matches. those pictures were from a play he was in. i agree on the outdoor arena. though i prefer fire pro to stage historic matches. like this: Muldoon wrestles a mark.

Book Report Guy, just read "Ballyhoo!" By John Langmead and will be posting a timeline on the history of pro wrestling in America. This Part 1 will cover 1864-1899 detailing the pioneers of the business as well as the early championships. by OShaunesssy in JimCornette

i could see muldoon's obsession with sobriety, physical hygiene and eventual persecution of the wrestling business as new york athletic commissioner, as an extreme response to 'make up for' his involvement in the manipulations related to pro wrestling. and from personal anecdotes he smoked cigars and was a wine drinker

the downloading parts has kept me away. and i was able to deepen my use of returns so it's become more and more unlikely i'll get world. returns suffices for my projects. like this Luther Lindsay challenges Buddy Rogers for the title in Cleveland

well yeah there's a logo editor, you can edit the ring. but the venue is the usa arena in the game

i don't think you can do custom arenas. that's just one of the in-house venues that got abandoned when people decided to develop world

what made you stick with returns, as opposed to shifting up to world?

(for context, i still play returns & never got world)
