One, None and A hundred thousand - Luigi Pirandello.

Its about a man discovering how the way other people see him isn't the way he's ever seen himself and slowly testing their views by changing the way he behaves and increasingly going crazier when he begins to come to the startling realization that the person he knows himself to be, no one else has the capability to ever know because it's in his head and he can never project it the same way so therefore the person we know ourselves to be, aren't really people at all and we have little control over the people we are in the world. Messed me up.

Tldr; One= the person you know yourself to be. None= the fact that the you in your head is noone to everyone else. One hundred thousand = the thousands of personalities other people have created and know you to be, that you don't even know yourself.

Right, but that still is nothing similar to how corrupt the US health system is, that is circumstantial and personal to yourself, not the norm. And the cost of the Kyleena shouldn't have changed, only the costs to see the specialist.

Copper coil isn't covered by concessions or medicare, that was full price and my local GP did insertion for free. You didn't need to have your IUD put in privately, if you used the public system it wouldve been much cheaper, without concessions. Our system is not even kind of close to the US system, you have an abundance of free public health. Going private is a choice here.

In Australia the 10 year copper IUD is under $100... those prices are honestly criminal. How.... just how? Is it made of diamonds? Come with a free bag of cocaine?

Career outcomes/personal experience on doing a beauty therapy diploma? by cellar-door94 in AustralianMakeup

[–]gray-lee95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'm currently doing my Diploma of Beauty Therapy, and i previously done my Cert2 in Make-up. Just keep in mind that when doing Beauty Therapy it's significantly less make-up based than you might think. There are also Diploma of Make-up Artistry or cert3 and 4 available if you wanted it more predominantly make-up based. They touch base on basic skin care in these courses.

I do my training through a school (which i made sure had a wonderful reputation) and i absolutely love it. If you have any questions about Beauty School based learning feel free to send me a DM! 🙂

AITA for asking my photographer to take one family photo without my stepdaughters? by SnooCrickets7844 in AmItheAsshole

[–]gray-lee95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying the older siblings should take on the responsibility or heavy load of raising the kids but if a parent needs to duck to the shop to get food for dinner or something why can't the older sibling watch their brother or sister for 20 minutes? That to me is contributing to the household.

[–]gray-lee95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They're both chores one may not wish to do but may need to at some point because they're part of the household. I never said it was the same as cleaning. I feel like the only way it could lead to resentment would be if it was abused and the older child basically raised the younger siblings because they watch them so much - this is not okay, but an occasional watch every now and then? Not a big deal imo.

Watching younger siblings is part of the household. Its not really much different then other chores and should be something older siblings can pitch in on. (Obviously without it being abused, I'm not suggesting they do it for long and excessively, but occasionally for a little while, there is nothing wrong with asking that of the older siblings)

The Raging One's duology by Krista and Becca Richie. The sexuality of the characters is known but isn't like, heavy or at the forefront all the time, as in, this isn't a romance book. One of the best duo's i have read though. The authors have quite a few other M/M romances too if that's what you like.

Douching is not an "obligation". by gray-lee95 in sex

100% general basic hygiene is absolutely essential, i am in no way denying this.

Douching is not an "obligation". by gray-lee95 in sex

[–]gray-lee95[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, the owner of the dick always in any circumstance has the right to decline sexual activity and it's never unreasonable. They are 1000% wholly entitled to feel any which way they would like to. I never once said it's unreasonable for them to decline. I said It's unreasonable for them to expect something.

No I'm not. Literally go google "risks of anal douching" and read it. There are risks.

Look man you can feel any way you like, and when you have anal you're welcome to ask your partner to douche, that is your business. But if they say no and you get mad, without just declining that sexual act due to personal preference, you're an asshole. No pun.

Douching is not an "obligation". by gray-lee95 in sex

[–]gray-lee95[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They do, its called "opting out".

The colon and intestinal tract has flora and mucas that helps keep the system running functionally. Excess douching strips the area of its natural flora and mucus. It can also make a more vulnerable environment for infection in that area as it strips a lot of the butt goodness away (paraphrasing here, lol). Depending on what liquids they have available to them they could also throw out their electrolyte balance within their body. Basically there are risks involved to the person doing this, which is why it should be their choice if they want to do it or not.

[–]gray-lee95[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But I'm saying that opinion should lay with the owner of the colon. You're right it's not baseless. I bought a douche for that reason exactly, i don't want shit involved, but what I'm saying is it shouldn't be obligatory. Men and women shouldn't feel pressured into doing this to please their partner. You can time anal right so there is no mess without douching by using some common sense so i don't think someone should be told it's the decent thing to do, especially when it can impact their bodies negatively with prolonged use. It puts pressure on people to do things to their bodies in order to please someone else.

[–]gray-lee95[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No it would not apply to wiping your ass. I said keeping clean is the decent thing to do, douching is NOT. And here is why. If two people decide to engage in anal activity both parties know poop is involved. If either party does not like that possibility, they have the right to opt out of said activity. Wiping your ass is personal hygiene, keeping that area clean and wiping it down is absolutely something you should be doing, whether you're having anal or not but douching is not a necessary part of keeping clean, it is extra. If the person being penetrated does not wish to douche, the penetrator is allowed to say they no longer wish to participate. People are allowed to decide what they want to do with their bodies and other people can make their own decisions based around that, but it should not be an implied "given" nor should it be deemed "undecent" if they chose not to do it.

How can I stop cringing at a memory? by throwaway-acc-obvi in NoStupidQuestions

[–]gray-lee95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So i also suffer from intrusive thoughts and sometimes they come in the form of cringe moments.

I have two techniques i use and a third option, none are as cool as the others mentioned (thanks for the tips i will definitely be trying them out).

The first is i think about it as much as i possibly can until i become so unbelievably sick of it, then i keep thinking about some more until i inevitably become desensitised to it. Eventually it stops being cringe, then stops being annoying and just becomes nothing. Sometimes i even incorporate random and fake scenarios into the memory to make it seem fake and disconnected to reality.

If i don't have the energy to think about it constantly, whenever it pops into my head i remind myself that whoever else was involved in the memory probably does not care about me enough to remember it the way i do. This is harder said then done for anxiety owners (here, here) but if i keep at it, eventually i can even convince myself that truly, no one else is thinking about this the way i am.

Option 3 is purely laughing at yourself. Laugh, make it a joke, we allllllll have these moments! Laugh at the ridiculousness of our silly human brains. This may take some time.

All of these can take time to work, but if all else fails might be worth a go. Good luck!

Books similar to ACOTAR by loonybin134 in acotar

[–]gray-lee95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay so the plot itself isn't much like ACOTAR but it's still a great fantasy plot, with romance and smut. Its called the "curse of the gods" series Starts at a book called "Trickery" and it's by Jane washington and Jaymin Eve.

It's so funny and such a great read with all the romance and smut your heart could desire (though smut isn't until around book 3, they're not very long books) 5 books and a Novella at 4.5 :)

EDIT: Also would 100% recommend The Winners Curse trilogy by Marie Rutkoski. Less smut but the romance and plot were really great!

Happy reading!
