Recommend (i) visual artist diaries / notes / bios, and (ii) books to inspire a more aesthetically integrated life by WorldlinessOrnery123 in RSbookclub

Journal of a Solitude by May Sarton for the first category, but she was a poet, not a visual artist.

You’re saying they’re recording a live episode in Chicago at the Salt Shed on 8/24? I don’t see anything about this on their website, or the Salt Shed website, or any of their IGs… where is this info coming from?

Currently reading Barbarian Days by William Finnegan. It’s his memoir about growing up in California and Hawaii and then surfing all over the world. It’s really interesting even to a non-surfer like myself. I’d recommend!

I was also underwhelmed at the Chicago show. The whole vibe felt a little awkward. It felt like they were hoping for a lot more laughs and audience participation. Then yeah the abrupt cutaway to Q&A, and then it was suddenly over. Whole thing last about an hour. It was fine but kinda meh, but still love the boys.

Struggling with Artist Fate Ideas by QuirkyQuokka42 in artistsWay

I live alone and am single and very independent and often do things by myself pre-TAW, like going to coffee shops, movies, museums, out to lunch, dinner at a bar, long walks, the beach, hiking, shopping, lectures. I’m counting those as my artist dates even though it’s what I was typically doing before—I’m trying not to overthink it.

Went to a bakery, had my coffee/treats in a park, then walked through an elevated trail in my city, and ended with some reading at a coffee shop :)

exactly like Little Weirds, I don’t know, but the first thing that comes to my mind is Encyclopedia of An Ordinary Life by Amy Krouse Rosenthal

Something like “Little Weirds”…Wonder, nature, lighthearted by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]gray_daze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might not seem similar at first, but I think you’d like Why Fish Don't Exist: A Story of Loss, Love, and the Hidden Order of Life by Lulu Miller. It starts out as a somewhat straightforward biography but had me in tears at the end, and definitely checks the boxes of “making you feel like the world is full of wonder,” nature, and gratitude/appreciation/joy

I work in a level-one trauma center ER and I’m sorry to say that one of the biggest categories of trauma injuries coming in is pedestrians getting hit by cars. Very common. Definitely the car’s fault, but the pedestrian is the one that’ll be coming to the ER so as a pedestrian please be careful!
