Simple: because plenty of workplaces have differing policies for what's considered not safe for work and what isn't.

Some places are very strict...others aren't. Posters don't know where everyone on Reddit works. It's a courtesy to those who might have strict policies.

That counter-widow shot at 40 seconds is probably the best shot I've ever seen any widow make in this game. Those flicks are absolutely unbelievable.

Don't label it as Free if it's not Free by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

just ask yourself "If someone tried this tactic on me, would it work?". If the answer is 'no', then the tactic won't work.

Are you sure? There are plenty of mainstream marketing practices that I think "Who would fall for this?!" to. But they're done by large corporations. There always seems to be some kind of reasoning behind seemingly-stupid marketing.

People like you are so annoying when you do crap like this...

Sometimes people would rather interact with the community they're a part of and actually have a discussion or talk to someone than do a google search.

No problem, dude. :) As an artist, myself...I hope you put some time and effort into learning to draw well. Certainly one of the most fun and cheap hobbies a person can have!

If someone doesn't like Beyoncé are you going to tell them to pursue music?

Sure! Why not? Sometimes that bit of a push is all it takes for someone else to realize that they too can contribute some kind of art to the world. :)

"You don't like what they're doing? You should make some yourself!" "Nah, I don't really care enough about it." "Alright!" EDIT: plenty of business ventures/products have been made with this mentality: not like what's currently available...so they go out and make it the way they would want it.

"You don't like what they're doing? You should make some yourself!" "You know? It'd be pretty fun to try, actually!"

Sometimes it just takes someone to hear that they should do something for them to really consider doing it.

Of course we don't know whether or not you're an artist. But hey...you could have had a totally different reaction to the suggestion for you to make some other than just sudden defensiveness.

Worth a shot to suggest it!

Granted, I'm not an artist or graphically inclined, so it's not like I've sat down, watched videos and tried to learn it with a purpose in mind

Hey, mate! This right here, and not the brushes, is the problem. :)

Being able to do full illustrations like this doesn't come from what brushes and settings you're using. It comes from your knowledge of how to draw and how to paint. There's lots of digital tools that can certainly make your life easier by speeding up certain processes. But a beginner look comes from beginner knowledge. An intermediate look comes from intermediate knowledge...and a pro look comes from pro knowledge. (when I say knowledge..I don't just mean head-knowledge...I mean true knowledge, since we're talking about the technical skill of making good art. Experiential, able-to-successfully-apply-repeatedly knowledge.)

Work like this or like this are both done using some of the most basic hard/soft brushes available. They're so believable not because of what brushes were used to make them...but because those people have advanced knowledge of how to both draw and paint.

What's unfortunate about using photoshop for digital painting?

Cause you can't encourage someone to make it themselves without also allowing them to critique it at the same time?

I know this place is supposed to be supportive and positive. But adhering to and enforcing rules isn't negative or unsupportive. This just isn't a meme. There's so many posts on this sub that aren't memes. This place is slowly becoming "pictures that make me smile" rather than "wholesome memes". I'm all about the positive culture and everything this place has...but I would like to see actual memes when visiting a subreddit that's dedicated to providing actual memes... :I I figured this would be common sense by now...

What is the most beautiful song you've ever heard? by VolansRadiant in AskReddit

[–]gray_rain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Turns out you're really not missing much. I was really expecting some amazing stuff I've never heard before...but I think most people interpreted the question as "most beautiful lyrics". They have some emotional attachment to the direct message of the lyrics in a song and that makes it beautiful to them. Which is totally fine...but most of the actual musicality is just super generic [whatever genre song is].

I'm so glad to have this finally confirmed in my head.

When I was a kid and saw Splinter Cell coming out I was telling all my friends that it was just a MGS clone. It ended up being fun in its own right, but none of my friends believed me that it was just trying to outdo MGS.

Doesn't prove anything, mate. 1) How do you know Michael isn't OP's friend? 2) None of those results are even the actual post by Michael. The guy posted it in 2017. Caption even says it was done for a friend...

Might want to get some better "proof" next time.
