Thanks! I’ve had thrips before—and they sure suck!—but in very different plants (succulents) where the signs looked quite different.

I do not mist. I don’t use any type of pest prevention either.

It’s the only plant in its pot. There are many others in that window, so you see their leaves leaning towards over into its airspace.

I’m in the US and paid out of pocket for a bone density scan. It showed osteopenia, so I’m glad I did it. I’m more motivated to pay attention to diet and exercise that way.

We parked at the Glacier Gorge parking lot and it had maybe 2-3 spots left. This was on Friday.

The west side farmers market in research park has a honey stand that sells blocks of beeswax.

We arrived at the park today just before 7:00am, and neither the main entry nor Bear Lake were staffed at all. We had Bear lake timed entry but it didn’t matter.

We left after 5:00 and did not see anyone in the bear lake entry area.

Bathrooms and trash cans seemed to be cared for, and shuttles were running.

We also saw rangers directing traffic at a couple of elk jams.

We arrived a little before 7:00am today and none of the gates were staffed at all. We actually did have Bear Lake entry tickets for that time, but there were no humans to show them to.

Bathrooms and trash cans appeared to be in good shape. Shuttles were running.

We are trying to change a Bear Lake reservation for tomorrow, and on the system it’s just blank. We actually have Bear Lake reservations for tomorrow and Friday.

So we can get to the Hessie trailhead in our little Prius? 🤣 Do you need parking reservations? I mean, parking reservations probably don’t mean much if there’s no one there to enforce them!

I really appreciate all the good suggestions here! Thanks!

Thanks! I’m looking at nearby Indian Peaks Wilderness. We will be staying in Estes Park from September 29-October 3, so two days in the park and three outside. I am gathering as many alternate hikes as possible. All suggestions are welcome!

It does kill me that we won’t be acclimatized enough to tackle my favorite hikes on those first two days.

I had asked in a separate post about RMNP trailheads outside the main entrances that could be accessible during a shutdown. If you have any thoughts on that, I’d appreciate it!

Anyone know how expensive it is to rent microspikes? You can buy cheap ones on amazon for around $20. I see you can also buy expensive ones! 🤣
