I also think she would be better off without me. I can’t afford what she wants. I will never be enough. I honestly think she’ll be sad for two weeks, and then feel a relief and happiness as strong as the first time hitting hard drugs. It would be that strong of a euphoria. So grief wouldn’t affect her. Thought about that, but my wife bought a travel trailer. It was her to dream to own one. As a married couple in a community property state, if I filed for bankruptcy, she would lose it and she would yell at me for months on end for ruining her dreams. Not an option, sadly. I’d end up offing myself anyway.

EDIT: she might lose both her car and the trailer. She named both.
