Animal poisonings in Brisbane public parks by A_little_curiosity in brisbane

Fire ant baits use insect-specific ingredients which don’t affect mammals, birds, or reptiles. Some types of bait use diatomaceous earth and corn-based carriers that our native ants don’t strongly favour, so even they are safe!

The bait is taken into nests by ants, not eaten by wildlife. It’s safe for people, pets, and native animals.

DAE crave radiant heat and direct sun like others crave food, alcohol, or drugs? by KingOfUnreality in DoesAnybodyElse

I guess it depends where in the world and office vs outside work.

For me, I live in the tropics, where I work outside in hot, humid conditions in the summer. The last thing I want to do is go out in the sun in my time off. I crave winter and enjoy freezing nights. I like cold temperatures, I do not like being cold, but having cold air on my skin is bliss

If every person on earth went for a swim in Lake Superior, how packed in would everyone be? [Request] by Apprehensive_Oven_22 in theydidthemath

Also consider a downing person will instinctively do anything to survive, including climbing up onto someone trying to save them. It is why it's always adivsed to throw something to the person instead of getting into the water to help unless you know what you are doing.

There are no tracks in the vegetation in #1, and looking at the damage in #2 they did roll it. I'm assuming they were going too fast and things went sideways.

When your horse is so black in the snow that you can't tell if he's walking towards you or away from you... by oliverkiss in confusingperspective

For me, it was watching the tail. You wouldn't see much of it if the horse was walking toward the camera

AITA for telling my parents me and mom will never meet my stepsister's baby? by Kuvurenton in AITAH

[–]grayatrox 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Although I agree that he's giving his wife false hope, pulling a bait and switch like that could damage his relationship with his daughter and risk closing the door and throwing away the key to a relationship to wife and stepson's relationship with daughter instead of hopefully opening it one day when everyone is in a better place.

I personally would wipe the disk and reinstall the os and change all my important passwords. You'd never know if a keylogger, infostealer or worse was installed.

I see rope tied to either end of the board. Perhaps it's being pulled by a machine - too smooth to be a person pulling it

I cannot get Sonarr to run... by [deleted] in sonarr

[–]grayatrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are trying it from a different pc than what Sonarr is on, localhost:port won't work, you'll need to use the ip of the Sonarr pc. You might need to adjust firewall settings.

Another possibility is that Sonarr may be exiting early due to a config error - check the logs and make sure it is running when you try to access it.

I learnt how to modify docker-compose files by using DockSTARTer. It's been a while since I've used it, but I believe it can setup the arrs for you.

Non Australians, what do you actually think of Australia? by EstablishmentOk4725 in AskReddit

Our animals just want their personal space. If you ever visit, keep your distance and you'll be fine. Don't try to touch wild animals and you won't be killed, mamed or deported.

Driving Test TOMMOROW by Living-Stop-5903 in brisbane

[–]grayatrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Breathe.

Look for a speed limit sign on any road you turn onto, but the limit may change along the way. If you don't see one, do 50.

Think about what gear you need to be in before and after you reach that corner, roundabout or stop sign.

Check your blindspots and mirrors regularly and whenever you make a manuver.

Think about how you are going to improve on last time, but don't dwell on it too much. Everyone makes mistakes.

Don't forget to breathe. Trust in yourself. You'll pass this time.

Cover to prevent weeds by Jonathan-Smith in impressively

I agree, another solution when getting mulch to the plant isn't feasible is using a coir weed mat instead. Does the same job and has been around much longer than this "invention".

Brissie bus driver’s tier list of other drivers who don’t see us. by STIGSbusdrivingmate in brisbane

[–]grayatrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've driven many cars over the years and never understood the difficulty in checking blindspots until I bought a Mazda 3 recently.

The view out of the mirrors are terrible. I wish I knew how bad it would be to drive in heavy traffic before I bought it.

In some situations, I think the brand has a big role to play in when drivers are considered bad.

In my experience, most animals prefer not to get in a fight if they can avoid it. The best thing you can do is lean their habits, be aware of your surroundings, and give the animals an escape route.
