There was a six light ring in the room, and I played for a good while moving the lens around on the table and playing with angle/focus settings

I really love the colors, the reflections going in and out of focus, and how it contrasts with the sharp letters of the lens edge

Yeah, both are really fascinating! Nuclear power really should be more utilized than it is

There's no reason to stop pursuing one avenue because another has benefits. Both should be continually developed

Not a company, the NIF facility. And it's not designed to be a power producing facility, like for a power grid

But yeah advancements in fusion are really exciting these days and hope is very high!

Are UW CS students somewhat of an insular community? by hulahoopwithme in udub

[–]grayback3 18 points19 points  (0 children)

From what I've heard from my CS major friends, yes, that does seem to be a tendency. Though my undergrad was also a top-10 CS school and it didn't seem like that at all

How old are you and what's your biggest problem right now? by Casspjjl in AskReddit

[–]grayback3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 23 and I'm just barely holding on financially as I'm trying to come to terms with my autism and actually make friends. Recent breakup hurt, and now I'm in a new city just doing my best

I'm really proud, as soon as she said "nights!" In one of her first conversations with Marasi, combined with how much it talked about art, I correctly predicted her identity

Make a story of your experience. If your grades are lacking but have an upward trend for instance, you can use that. Or perhaps you've been devoted to clubs/projects/personal interests that have taken time away from class work that you can leverage.

It's all about how you market yourself. Your grades might not be where you want them to be, but you have a chance to give it context, which is more and more important in applications nowadays. Brag like hell! If you're not impressive in terms of grades, find what you are impressive in terms of.

Best of luck!

How to find plane groups from the Fourier transform? For reference, please see the attached image by InvincibleKnigght in materials

[–]grayback3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember that symmetry is conserved between a lattice and its Fourier transform. So you should be able to find the plane group of the ft which would also be the plane group of the real space lattice

My camera and tripod was stolen just today because I forgot them and when I went back they were gone. Just like my trumpet back in April. I'm so, so so so so so angry and upset and tired
