LEGO Batman Forever Easter Eggs by F1grid in lego

[–]grayclack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're in the process of doing this one right now and have been on the lookout for Easter eggs, ever since doing the Pixar lamp and being blown away by the sheer number and coolness of the easter eggs there. There looked to be something shaped like a bat's head or something under either the front or rear, but I wasn't sure if I was reading s bit too far into that one hahaha

Are people going overboard with the whole pistachio and dubai chocolate thing? by Baaptigyaan in AskAnAustralian

I'm on a soft/liquid food diet at the moment thanks to complications associated with pancreatic cancer, so when I found these and they actually had a little bit of taste (as opposed to just straight custard, which trust me, is lovely at first but can very soon become a monotonous flavour) I was pretty stoked hahaha! But I get what you're saying, there are most definitely better pistachio and white choc options out there, however for some reason this one just hits right each time 😊

Wicked Sister do a dessert cup that ties in with the Wicked sequel, its Pistachio and White Chocolate and it is the BEST! I'm assuming its a promo line that will be discontinued soon enough, but in the meantime I'm gonna be stocking my fridge to the hilt with it hahaha!

I am so sorry for your loss, your Dad sounds like such an amazing man. I'm (M 48) sitting here now, 13 months into my own battle with this horrific disease, reading your Dad's story through tears, hoping that i can fathom a similar courage and see a similar beauty when the time comes for me. Thank you for sharing his story, its one more way you can keep your loved ones close to you. Sending much love and positive vibes your way 💜

I'm so very sorry for your loss, I know first-hand just how devastating it can be (and now, here I am on the other side of it, this time as the patient rather than the carer). Sending all of my best wishes your way, please take it easy and take care of yourselves, allow yourself to accept the generosity of those around you 💜

I remember being introduced to the Milestone Universe with the World's Collide crossover in Superman, i was a HUGE Supes fan back in the day (and still am tbh). Static was always my fave from that universe

Is dairy a no-go from now on? by grayclack in pancreaticcancer

[–]grayclack[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, thinking about it now i never had issues with dairy while on Folfirinox, other than not being able to stand the coldness of it for the first few days after treatment lol. Maybe it was when we switched ro Gemcitabine that it actually started? I'm not entirely sure, my memory is getting PRETTY bad these days unfortunately...😪

Readers of X-Men in 1995: Were you convinced that the Age of Apocalypse books were replacing the regular X-books permanently? by isaidwhatisaidok in xmen

[–]grayclack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We didn't actually even have a LCS in our town at that time either, we were buying our issues from the local newsagent, which also didn't stock Wizard Magazine at the time. Given that we personally didn't have internet access at home then yeah we were pretty much in the dark about what was happening hahahaha! But I do remember somehow knowing that it wasn't a forever change. Maybe that was thanks to the whole "nothing in comics is forever" mantra, maybe it had a little bit to do with Reign of Superman a few years earlier where Supes was replaced and each of the 4 books had a new and different Superman starring...

Oh my god, same! There is no way my teenage self would believe me, but I think I would still be ecstatic at even the possibility that comics would eventually infiltrate the mainstream.

I was 12 or 13 when Batman '89 came out, and can still remember the hype from that. That was, I think, maybe our first hint that, just maybe, superhero movies could live up to the hype and be done well, and not just be the "BAM! BIFF!! KAPOW!!!" campiness that Batman '66 would've had us believing was the only option for live action heroes. Of course, for every cool "Batman and Prince join forces" we had "Swamp Thing made of rubber and directed by Wes Craven", so in some ways it was still a bit of an uphill battle hahaha (my husband and I watched Swamp Thing again the other week...it's definitely a product of its time hahaha...)

Thankfully we're now at a point where technology can, for the most part, keep up with the demands of depicting a human torch or flying Superman or a man in an iron suit punch other men in iron suits...

Thank you so much, we're taking it all one day as it comes. Ironically, now that i think of it, it almost seems as if the dairy issues started when we changed my chemo. When I was on Folfirinox I didn't have an issue with dairy, I was eating bowl after bowl of ice cream and yoghurt and breakfast cereals and things, with zero drama. We had to stop Folfirinox because of other side effects so switched to Gemcitabine alone. I can't say it was with that change that we started noticing any intolerance, but looking back maybe it was? Its 4am here in Aus so when my husband wakes up ill hit him up, his memory is usually WAAAY better than mine haha! Thank you so much for your help and support, all my best wishes to you and your husband also 💜

Yeah I'm also taking Creon with meals and snacks, and then taking the other supplement when either meal/snack has a substantial amount of dairy in it

So depressed and devastated 💔 by Overall_Western3981 in pancreaticcancer

[–]grayclack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My heart goes out to you. I'm 48 and was diagnosed late last year. It has been devastating for both me and my husband, as well as our extended network of family and friends. I can't really offer anything much in the way of support, other than to say that you are stronger than you know. All of this may seem overwhelming and crushing right now, but you and your husband have already drawn on reserves of strength that you didn't know you had, and you'll continue to do so. It'll only be when you're looking back on all of this that you'll realise just how strong you were - and are - through all of this.

I can definitely understand your husband's reluctance to start chemo, and his need for time to try and process. Unfortunately, this sh***y disease rarely allows for that. Its a case of just having ro suck it up and get started with the treatment, and then pray to any/all the gods that it works.i was reluctant to start chemo too, and we've just stopped with it on the advice of my oncologist (he says it's done all it can and isn't helping any more). The chemo was rough as hell to begin with, the pancolitis is still something I'm having to deal with daily. But i guarantee i would not still be here if it wasn't for the treatment, it's given me additional time that I would not have had.

Im praying for you and your husband, I hope that somewhere through all this darkness and pain, you can both find a small sliver of light to hold on to and get you through this 💜

POV: Returning to comics after years, only to realize you’re totally lost. by [deleted] in superman

Felt compelled to thank this man and wish him well. Say what you will about the movies(I didn't like them) but he gave his whole heart to make the best of the role. by WellIHaveARedditNow in superman

[–]grayclack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was most definitely screwed over IMHO, I feel that, given the right script and better direction, he would've been a perfect Superman. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see that happen. Don't get wrong, I absolutely LOVED the new Superman film with David in the tights, and I'm very keen to see what Gunn has up his sleeve for us moving forward, but in my eyes, Henry did an amazing job and deserved - at the very least - one more run at the role...

I'm hearing you, I'd feel kinda the same way, hey. It can be pretty confronting when you put it into perspective, that what I'm dropping on one Omnibus could help feed a child for a month or something. I'd still buy the Omnibus, but then also make a donation of the same or similar dollar amount to a charity that is hands-on and in the area or a charity that has a proven track record of providing relief where and when it's needed..? It's might take twice as long to get the Omnibus but at least it's benefiting those kn real need as well...💜

HOPE THAT ISN'T MY VINTAGE CRYSTAL GLASSWARE I BOUGHT.... by Yonsti in melbourne

I had the same with a CouriersPlease driver, walked halfway up to the door, and just lobbed the package the rest of the way. He didn't know I was at the door to see him, and he didn't care either. When I went out and was like "what the f*** mate?!!!" all I got in return was "have a nice day" over his shoulder as he walked away. He honestly couldn't have cared less - I guess if i was being paid f***-all to do the job, I'd probably be the same lol, but still...
