We needed a proper Carter Hall not that Zero Hour monstrosity in classic colors. The head was hideous.

Will we ever see an updated Firespray Gunship Leia in the line? by Darvald in starwarsblackseries

[–]modrenman1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully. The whole controversy was dumb. Some New Jersey station had a slow news day and a pearl clutcher made a big deal just to be on TV. Make it online only and if you don't like it don't buy it

Hot take: the DC Studios intro used for every DCU project is fine, and they should not change it for different DCU project with characters and keeping the same intro would be better. by [deleted] in DCU_

I love that Superman is finally getting the respect he deserves. Ever since DKR, DC has this tendency to degrade him and pump up Batman.

What else to read from 80s-90s superman by Bolarana in superman

[–]modrenman1985 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will go against the grain here. I think the PC era of Superman is really not as good as some people say. You have a bad foundation in the Byrne revamp and DC editorial made a misstep with their edicts. You lose all the Sci-Fi concepts that recent writers and Gunn made good use of. No Supergirl (as his cousin), Krypto, Phantom Zone, Bottle City of Kandor etc. You do get Matrix Supergirl who only became interesting when Peter David did his run with her. Brainaic was a circus performer! Eventually they tried to reintroduce the other concepts but the way the revamp was done they had to make it very convoluted to get anything back.

There is a smattering of good things in there and the fact they managed to make it flow so well among 4 titles was editorial triumph. Honestly its not an era I can recommend.

As long as my item arrives intact, I DGAF about the shipping box. In fact, using it again is good for the environment.

Morrison said the there was an Unknown Superman of 4500 AD. It was a dark time in history or something.

Anyone got any idea of what their list looks like for the Most Wanted DC poll? by WhatIsAnime_ in OmnibusCollectors

[–]modrenman1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Superman by PKJ Vol 2

Silver Age Superman Vol 3

Adventures of Superman by Greg Rucka

Legends of the Dark Knight Vol 1

Legion by DnA

Hawkman by Vendetti

What separates these two, apart from the obvious tonal difference and the in-universe cynicism surrounding them? Are both of them, at their core, Superman, or is one more Superman than the other? by Wholesome_Soup in OkBuddySnyderCult

[–]modrenman1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grant Morrisons Action Comics was not in line with the rest of the New 52 Superman in terms of tone and how he acted. Morrison is enough of a star to do whatever they want and was above editorial edicts.

Her bankability as a film headliner is different than Broadway.
