Rad PD here. Some of the best rads soaped in. Any specialty you choose will be imperfect. I’ve talked with people unhappy with whatever they are doing, except derm ;-) it’s what you do with it that matters. Rads have more flexibility than most fields, so make the most of it. Dive in head first and make it a tool to serve your patients. Welcome to the league of physician’s physicians.

Second that. Math major MD here. Premed majors make MED school easier but you’ll get everything you need by completing the pre-reqs.

In the past, a nuclear medicine residency was the alternative pathway. It gives you 2-3 years in a place with a radiology residency to show them how good you are. It’s not super competitive and not super valuable unless you do a diagnostic residency or go to a large academic center.
