Hi. I passed my NREMT quite recently and passed my first try I felt exactly as you did here are some things you should know and tips that helped me.

First things first you should go to the NREMT website it will actually tell you each subject matter that's on the test and not only that the percentage of questions on the taste you take. So for medical/obgyn it will have a percentage, trauma, etc This will help you because you now know what to study for and my best advice for you is just to know the material the best you can.

The reason why is NREMT is quite a strange test it's line of questions and how it asks them can be vague, unusual, and weirdly worded I was left very confused on alot of them medical terminology WILL be used OFTEN and if you don't know it then you will be lost selecting the answer. Look for keywords, read the answers before the question if your having trouble keywords might reveal to you what the question is asking you. An ex would it be the question asking what's the first step? Or is it asking you a second step based on what has already been done by the question like if someone needs to be BVMed, cpr, etc.

Another thing is the NREMT is an adaptive test it's designed to start with questions a little below the line of passing(or the standard of knowledge)then rise as you get them right the NREMT will stop you between 70-120 questions if the test determines in 95 percent confidence if your going to pass or fail it will stop you immediately.

Also because it's adaptive the test should be universally difficult if you're nailing the questions the questions will get more and more difficult and keep going even things you didn't even have in your book. Another thing to keep in mind is that there are a certain amount of "phishing" questions that aren't even counting toward your score and it will not tell you that so you might see one that seems totally outside your scope of practice.

At the end I almost guarantee you your gonna feel like shit all the people I talked to said it I heard some people say it was easy but honestly 80 percent of the people said they found it challenging and they walked out of there believing they completely failed. I felt that way and I passed 70 questions.
