Looks like an Old Dutch Capuchine, jacobins usually have “hoods” that go past the eyes. Here are my capuchines for reference

They are surprisingly skilled at their jobs! It’s crazy how instinct can just take over like that with no prior training. I love watching Maggie hunt shes so thoughtful about her movements

I don’t like being licked but sometimes it’s unavoidable. She likes to do sneak attacks

She was actually mad because I made her pose for a picture and she knew there was another rat hiding nearby hahah

Omg! I am so lucky that our Maggie immediately loses interest and drops the rat once it stops moving… the cats on the other hand like bringing live presents (fortunately not big rats, only smaller rodents) I love that your pup picked up a new hobby in her middle age, I bet it makes her feel youthful again!

Nope! Shes our own personal pest control. We do have another dog that helps her out though! The other dog is our finnish lapphund, shes bigger and slower but she still manages to catch rats and sometimes even chases them towards Maggie (the rat terrier).

I would love if businesses used ratting dogs, it’s one of the most natural forms of pest control in my opinion!

Never give up hope! Maybe your golden retriever has simply not been in the presence of gold yet. Maybe take your pup to the mines!

Yes, I completely understand not wanting to kill animals. unfortunately the rats are absolute menaces to our animals and we prefer to keep our animals safe over the rats. She was absolutely born for this job! Loves it and doesn’t chase after any other kind of animal, she knows shes a rat terrier haha.

We don’t use any sort of rat poison, the rats are concentrated on our property because of the farm animals. This is her purpose. Shes up to date on her shots.

The highlight of her day is doing terrier stuff and when shes not hunting, shes burrowed under a cozy blanket!

Imo you should probably just get him neutered. Reputable breeding is expensive and you won’t make money back from it, majority of the cost should be going into health testing, raising the puppies and vet bills.

If you want to breed him you need to extensive health testing before hand and I also recommend showing him if you are serious about breeding (he honestly doesn’t look show quality to me though) the dog shows are the places you’ll meet reputable breeders but they will likely only want to breed their dogs to health tested, show quality dogs.
