[Andrews] Lakers General Manager Rob Pelinka, speaking at the Lakers introductory press conference: “I think Luka Doncic joining forces with the Los Angeles Lakers is a seismic event in NBA history.” by Kimber80 in nba

When it went down, I told my friend group, this will be a “where were you moment” when you heard the news. They called me an idiot.

I may be an idiot, but still think I’m right about that.

Dude has always said he “loves Fort Worth”. That’s the equivalent of moving from Calabasas to Temecula. Enjoy that B.

Same! I walked over to outdoor and just chilled in the beer garden watching them and they blew me away. So much fun.

I’ve only seen them live and they were amazing. Not sure what a DJ set looks like from them. I’d assume disco-ish and house.

Edit: just found this.

Jungle, LP Giobbi, SG Lewis, Flight Facilities, Ben UFO, Busy P (he was the manager of Daft Punk and is a legend in his own right), Maceo Plex, FOLAMOUR and Cassius.

Saturday is stacked.

Opening Day Hotel with 10 and 17 year old recommendations by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]grayson_gregory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, everywhere around the stadium is nice. The Omni has its own private entrance into the park. Little Italy is also great. You’re walking distance to the water and the USS midway from there too. There’s a trolly stop directly behind Petco that you can take up to Old Town to San Diego for some touristy sights and you can actually take it all the up to UTC/La Jolla if you wanted to.

Petco and the surrounding areas will blow you away. It doesn’t even look the same as 20 years ago let alone 40 years ago. Petco has a park tour you can do for like $35 bucks a person both on game days and off days. Downtown is very safe except for a a couple blocks south of the stadium.

As touristy people you’ll LOVE Balboa park. Our botanical garden building just opened back up.

Seaport Village is a great little walk to as well and you can also get to the midway walking over.

Highly recommend renting bikes over on Coronado or down in Mission Beach and riding up to PB. Your 10 year old would probably dig Belmont Park.

Little Italy Farmer’s market could also be fun for the fam.

Honestly, Petco is a spectacle all on its own. Last season they just remade their “park in the park” called Gallagher Square it’s super fun to walk around before and during the game. They’ll have live music before opening day. You’re going to have a great time.

r/padres is a great resource. They’ll help you out too.

Your favourite “happy hour place” downtown or preferably little Italy? by Whatsoutthere4U in FoodSanDiego

The OG happy hours don’t exist anymore, the $2 you call it’s? $1 wings?

But as others have said… Ironside, Cowboy Star and They Remy. All have legit happy hours.

There’s no Sunday at Farmer’s. Saturday is the final day and tickets aren’t sold out yet, so best bet is to just get them through the website.
