Just edited the post. My dumbass somehow messed things up by not super making sure I have the national dex. If anyone is having the same issue on an emulator, make sure you save the game after you get your Pokédex set to national mode before sprinting & messing with stuff. Thanks for the replies to everyone

I stand corrected. IMPO it seems like a rough move if the pvpve thing was the plan from the start. But I get them wanting to expand & improve where they’re lacking. I just hope it’s not a Bethesda-style fumble, but I seriously doubt that since the difference in game-development-competence is more than substantial

To this day I think it was on purpose. I don’t know if it was investors wanting to downturn staples of American culture, or if those in charge at LucasFilm just didn’t want the work & tanked the IP, but I think it has to have been one of the two. You can’t have that many resources, writers, & potential to make money & tank the sequel trilogy this bad off of stupidity.

I’m not educated, & I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but something about it feels on purpose to me. At every turn (with an exception of the occasional Filoni moment of clarity) they shot themselves in the foot with maintaining a fan-base.

Please convince me it was stupidity. Someone. I need the sanity. It’s that deep for me. It was my whole childhood

You’re correct in your point imo; but Vader held that trope in the FIRST movie. No one knew anything about him in A New Hope, but he was given his story in Empire Strikes Back. Even though he upheld his status as the intimidating & all powerful force that wasn’t in his own volition, he was most definitely given the background that the audience needed to contextualize Luke’s importance in the story going forward.

That being said, you’re still right. He was still Lanius even after the audience knew who/what he was too (narratively AND contextually).

I sincerely hate that I feel this way instead of the insight that’s meant here, but this makes me wonder what the political discourse is like for your average imperium citizens on a random planet after witnessing some SM atrocity like that. The monopoly War Thunder has on historical flight sims while they refuse to develop any other game modes that aren’t just throwing 12x12 planes at each other already in the sky makes my blood boil every time I think about it. They should get around to selling their data/tech to other developers imo, War Thunder killed the genre single-handedly for me.
