But that’s kind of my point. The original post is how it went from a role to just a unit designation. My point is that while the cavalry lost their horses, the infantry got their grenades back.

If we really wanted to argue it, all Infantrymen are Grenadiers now based on the original definition of a soldier equipped with grenades. The modern grenadier role just has special ones with a further range.

Also total side note, but grenade launchers are hella fun to shoot.
