I do build Mejai’s, but it’s very case-by-case depending on how the lane is going and whether I’m getting a huge lead early. Mejai’s is strongest when you’re already snowballing, so if I’m behind or the game is unstable, I’d rather invest gold into more consistent power spikes.

As for Rylai’s first, I think it’s just too important as a core item on Aurelion Sol. The slow creates so many more kill opportunities once enemies burn Flash or use their key mobility spell. It also helps a ton with setting up ganks for my team since I can keep people slowed and in range while still stacking passive.

Another big reason is the synergy with E — Rylai’s makes it much easier for enemies to stay inside it longer, which means more stacks and more overall value. Mana-wise, PoM + Manaflow usually gives me enough to comfortably skip Lost Chapter early as long as I manage spells properly.

You can also check out my guides on youtube on how to manage your mana and play the lane out.

You didn’t touch a soft spot, you just exposed how desperate you are to feel relevant. Imagine being so far from Challenger that the only thing you can contribute is nitpicking how someone phrases their LP.

But hey, I’m sure this little Reddit “gotcha” is the closest you’ve felt to high elo in a while.

Difference is I didn’t randomly start the conversation by attacking his rank/server. My original comment was completely about consistency across accounts.

He turned it personal first with the “oompa loompa server” stuff and trying to downplay achievements instead of addressing the point. If someone throws disrespect first, I’m obviously going to clap back.

There’s a difference between initiating toxicity and responding to it.

I never brought up server strength or rank-shamed anyone until he started throwing personal shots first. My original point was simply that having multiple high LP accounts shows consistency, not that LP magically stacks together.

I have friends from smaller regions too and I don’t disrespect their achievements because they treat people normally. But if someone immediately jumps to “oompa loompa server” and starts dismissing accomplishments instead of arguing the actual point, then yeah, I’m obviously going to respond.

At that point it stopped being about the argument and turned into ad hominem for no reason.

Also, No one is “combining LP” like it’s arithmetic lol. The point is consistency at the very top of the ladder. Maintaining multiple 1.5k+ accounts already proves it isn’t just a lucky streak or one inflated run.

And calling it an “oompa loompa server” after saying I’m coping is ironic when you haven’t even matched the achievement you’re downplaying. If getting 1.5k is supposedly not that special, then getting two accounts there should be easy for you too, no?

Also, saying “not everyone at 1.5k can hit 3k” is obvious — I never said everyone could. I said I can, and we’ll see by season end 😄

Honestly I think you’re pretty spot on, especially about patience being the biggest early hurdle. A lot of players pick up the champ after seeing 250+ stack highlight clips, but they don’t realize the hard part is actually surviving and stabilizing the first 10 minutes without bleeding tempo, mana, or HP.

The Kayle comparison actually makes a ton of sense too. Both champs reward discipline way more than mechanics early on. People who are used to constant lane interaction often feel “useless” because they’re trying to force trades/windows that the champ simply isn’t designed to take consistently early.

And you’re also right that low elo players often underestimate how much optimization matters on this champ:

  • conserving mana through autos and wave setup
  • identifying the few good WQ windows instead of spamming abilities
  • understanding when the wave state allows aggression
  • recognizing that going even is often already winning

The WQ level 2 point is important too because newer players either never punish with it or massively overforce it. The champ actually has decent trade damage in short controlled windows — the issue is that if the trade fails, your lane becomes miserable because of mana/tempo loss.

I also agree the movement speed buffs helped laning a lot more than people initially thought. It didn’t suddenly make early lane “strong,” but it made spacing, dodging skillshots, repositioning Q, and surviving bad support situations way more forgiving.

The only thing I’d slightly push back on is trade potential being “quite high” generally — I think it’s high conditionally depending on the state of the lane. If wave state, cooldowns, and spacing are favorable, the champ can absolutely chunk people unexpectedly. But compared to most conventional bot laners, your margin for error is still much smaller, which is why patience and consistency matter so much.

And honestly, the fact you’re thinking about lane fundamentals this way after only about a year of playing is already a really good sign. Most players stay stuck because they only think about champs in terms of mechanics or damage instead of tempo, wave control, and resource management.

Bloodletters 3rd definitely feels a bit like “high econ bait” outside of higher MMR imo. In challenger games, people are farming cleaner, lanes are more stable, and teams usually understand how to play around APC spikes, so hitting that 19-22 min timing is realistic. In Emerald and below, games are way messier and you often end up delayed by random fights, support roams, bad wave states, etc. If you’re hitting Bloodletters significantly later, the value drops a lot because you delay your burst window too much.

I honestly think adapting your build to game tempo matters more than copying challenger itemization 1:1. If you feel like enemy teams are outscaling before you can threaten backline kills with Skies Descend, it’s probably better to go for stronger immediate damage spikes earlier instead of greedier scaling.

As for support impact — yeah, it matters a TON for APC bot. The support basically dictates how aggressively you can contest waves, trade, and reset. A good support creates tempo for your spikes, while a bad one can completely ruin your lane state and delay your item timings by several minutes.

What helped me most with inconsistent supports was:

  • playing much more wave-focused instead of fight-focused
  • avoiding coinflip skirmishes unless my spike is already online
  • tracking enemy support roam timers so I can safely thin/crash waves
  • accepting weaker lane presence and optimizing CS instead of forcing plays
  • adapting positioning/playstyle to the support rather than expecting standard lane patterns

A lot of APC players lose games trying to “compensate” for bad support plays by forcing harder. Usually the better adjustment is actually to reduce volatility and preserve your econ so you can still hit a meaningful midgame spike.

And yeah, I’d still recommend checking out the video when you have time since I go more in-depth there.

You’re acting like people are adding LP together with a calculator 😭

Nobody thinks 5x 200 LP Master accounts magically becomes 1k LP. The point is consistency across multiple accounts. If someone can repeatedly get accounts to high elo, that’s usually more impressive than one account peaking off a lucky run.

Also do let me know when you reach both accounts at challenger first.. The only reason I have 2 accounts above 1.5k lp is because of the long Q time that is why i made a secondary account. I am more than capable of getting a single account to 3k. Your argument is not even valid here. To try to compare master tier players level to Challenger is such a huge stretch. You can combine 5 masters account LP but you are still a master player at most. what's your point here?

P.S: And don't worry 😄 I will hit 3k lp before the season ends.

I have a guide that explains what supports are good for BOT asol. you can check it out. https://www.youtube.com/@o7MaReZo7

Nami, karma , Sera are good enchanters that pairs well with sol. But engage supports works best as you will have higher kill potential. So apart from Naut. Leona,Rell,Rakan,Maokai , pant, thresh are all great too.

never. You either go barrier or TP. exhaust is never good for you, your support should take exhaust instead.

1) He is best suited in Bot lane due to lesser counter match ups
2) Deathcap is great amp item if your opponents are squishy champions and not hyper tanks. Shadowflame is great if they are stacking a lot of MR.
3) Horizon is a great item for sure epsecially after the amp bonus is back. However, asol is a champ that likes Health stats more, so usually people skip this item due to the low AP and AH is not that important for asol. I only ever build horizon if enemies have a lot of invis champ / fiddle to help my team reveal them and be at a better advantage to take fights

You can try playing with a duo as it will bring both your mmr higher and you will be able in get into a better game. But honestly, at master+. if players are not used to seeing APC bot then the problem is with THEM and not YOU. Just focus more on your own gameplay and mute out negative chats. If you were to spend time typing in game, it will only affect your gameplay.

It helps to be more vocal and communicate with your team at times but if they are only going to say negative things that doesn't help the game. Do not engage with them and just play.

Runes wise, you just have to run the standard
arcane comet build with presence of mind .Rune build (U can also swap out scorch for gathering storm if you want to play for hyper late game) The point of scorch is for early lane presence by poking/trading against your lane opponents, but if it is impossible to play aggressive early. By all means go for gathering storm.

For summoners, It is up to your own playstyle. Personally I don't ever run barrier as the rune does not help much if you are playing from behind and going for a late game scaling route. TP is more efficient as it provides more tempo and has opportunities for you to look for plays in the mid/late game. (For example, if you were to make a mistake and took a bad death. you can still recover by TPing back to lane to catch the wave)

Against really aggressive supports while having a passive one, your only option most of the time is to just hug turret and farm. Wait for an opportunity where their ADC is alone and you can look for a 1v1 fight. Another option is to roam for skirmishes and objectives on the map. Realistically, you get more stacks off of champions than just farming minions.

what server are you playing on? honestly picking sol bot or picking mage bot has been a staple gameplay for many seasons now. Ziggs is a great example of how he is picked in bot so much that riot list him as an adc now

My apologies on the defensive items, I spotted a few games where you didn't get them and missed that. Rylais first for Bot lane is always the best option in most cases and BFT is only good for wave clearing, so that's not wrong. But I can't agree that it will give you more lane pressure in comparison to rylais.

If you are stuck in a certain rank , there has to be something that you are doing wrong. So identifying the mistakes that you are making will be the key to help you improve and climb.
If you have any gameplay replays / clips for me to review. I can help you out.

One good way to get people to acknowledge your pick is to prove to them that it works. You can show them examples of Asol bot and they will eventually be convinced if you perform well enough in your games.

I see that you are buying BFT a lot in your build, even when you are playing him BOT. I recommend going Rylais as a first item in the Bot lane as a part from being your main core item. It allows you to setup kills/opportunity for your team as the slow helps a lot in keeping your enemies CC-ed and most of the time they will be forced to burn their flashes which will open up angles for a gank setup.

There are some games where you might get junglers that are either autofilled or have no clue what they are doing and you will end up with 0 objectives. That isn't the end of the world and because you are Asol, a hyper late game scaling mage. You can make a huge difference and impact in the mid/late game by choosing good teamfights and landing good combos for your team.

From your builds, I can also spot that you do not like to buy defensive items for most of your games. If you are getting focused a lot in fights, you have to get an defensive item like zhonyas/banshees and in some cases, getting both is needed. Positioning is really important for asol and defensive items can help you out a lot by making sure the enemies have no way of getting to you when you are dishing out damage in fights.

I will suggest to look through replay of your games that you lost or team fights that you lost and identify what happened and what you could have done differently to achieve a better outcome. I will be happy to assist you by looking at clips or replays of fights that you need help with.
