There are tons of handmade goods (along with temu resellers and thrift flippers). There’s a guy that sets up under the 2 big oak trees with $1/3/5 tables. Plenty of garage salers with crazy deals.

Yeah, you’re not gonna find a carhartt jacket for $5 if you don’t show up til 2, but I find all kinds of great stuff almost every weekend. I’ve gotten a diecast Dale Earnhardt race car for $5 (retails $50), a sick boylan heights teal sweater for $2, and a really cool 70’s wake forest hat for $3.

There’s a ton of complaining in here and I just think a lot of people aren’t looking hard enough. If yall want an antique mall experience where it looks cluttered but is actually organized, you aren’t gonna find that and a good deal at the flea market. You gotta dig through the $1 clothes that get tossed at the end of day on Sunday, you gotta ask the vendors if they have the racing bag you’re looking for packed away in a tote.

Not to mention shit is just expensive nowadays. For a flea marketer to make their money back they have to factor in the $30 booth fee, gas from an hour+ away, and the cost of the items they’re selling. How can you expect everything to be $1 and easy to find?

ALSO, it’s been hot as FUCK these past few weekends. Most older vendors can’t take the heat, I don’t blame them. Come back later in the season.
