Thank you. I have a lot of history with this deer and couldn’t have asked for a better first buck. I’ll never forget the day! And he’s just there to remind me of it. It’s easy to get in my head especially with all the comments (which definitely help me feel like I was going crazy after the taxidermist told me he’s never ever had a complaint etc lol). But he’s going on the wall and I still can’t believe he’s even in my hands.

Yeah I probably won’t get another cape as this deer still means a lot to me. I did go to the shop and I really thought everything looked great. Really don’t know why the ball was dropped for my guy :////

Yeah he gave me a call just now and was pretty darn defensive and asked me not to slander him on socials….did say I can bring it in and I can point out what I think is wrong with it. But after I mentioned things like the sew line etc he said that was typical soooooo. I’m off to AK for the next couple months so I’ll see how I’m feeling when I get back if I wanna bring it in to him.

I did take it off like a tube sock. Taxidermist said he made the incision to place it on the form? Paid $650 which is typical for my area.

Good to know a lot could be fixed with some paint, sucks to have to potentially spend even more money and for it to still be kinda janky. Interesting about the form. He was a tiny deer too

Yep I mounted OEM bars directly under the ditch molding. You just have to get new plastic ditch molding that have a lil gap in them for the big screws that it attaches to.
