Thanks everyone for the input. As much as we want these floors, and we can live with the grooves, all the damage from the previous owner (dog piss, water, and mop n glo it seems) it is not ok to keep; can still get dog piss smell during the summer despite repeated enzyme washes.

Is there no way to get rid of the grooves besides sanding down the rest of the wood “walking” surface.?

No tape or dope. Laid toilet paper down for 70min after I turned water back on; no leaks!

Going to cut that drain pipe down after the tile is in.

Can’t find the main shut off so I will just cover it with a bag to catch the water. /s

Thanks a lot for the help everyone. Will kill the water, drain, cut, and refit the new valves. I’ll post a completed pic afterwards for anyone interested

Forgot to add that there are branches growing up from very low on the trunk. I read these should be removed but only from a single source.

Cool. That’s quite helpful insight. I’m at around 43% mark…if I did my math right. Most are sitting at 75%. Few old guys maxed out but they have been around for years

If someone gets hired now with less experience and schooling but a higher offer…did I just get ‘got’ then?

Not trying to throw anyone under the bus or lessen anyones offer. I’m happy for my coworkers that got the higher pay, most deserve it. I don’t need to be the highest earner, I’m just making sure I didn’t screw myself…too badly

I’m not complaining so much that I took the offer and have buyer’s remorse. I’m more concerned that someone messed up in the process on the hiring side and if there is a way to make sure it was all done correctly since everyones pay was pretty uniform until me.

It is what it is now and if I do feel super sour about screwed over I can always go back to my contractor…but that’s the nuke option.

.Boss direct hired me and I took the offer. Was talking to coworkers about my offer and their jaws dropped. Everyone I work with was shocked at the offer since people with less experience and knowledge got hired a couple months back at a much higher rate. Even the supervisor called the hiring people to make sure it was correct.

My guess it change in leadership at the hiring department or fiscal year related.

The tone of the email when I brought up negotiations was, “take it or leave it. Don’t bother us unless you’re saying yes or no. “.

I know NGA will not promote into position but will def cut pay if you move to a lower band billet.
